Overwatch 2 Unveils New PvP Mode, Map Reworks, and Mythic Widowmaker Skin for Season 13

Overwatch 2 is gearing up for Season 13, set to introduce an exciting lineup of content, including the Spellbinder Widowmaker skin, a fresh Halloween PvP experience, and four revamped maps.

With the upcoming Season 13 coinciding with Halloween, Blizzard is reintroducing Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride, featuring an array of new foes, bosses, and an exciting range of special challenges for players.

A standout addition is the new Junkenstein’s Laboratory mode, a PvP deathmatch format that showcases modified hero abilities for characters such as Reinhardt, Moira, and Mercy.

As part of the seasonal updates, S13 is set to unveil a new Mythic skin, this time for Widowmaker. The Spellbinder skin features exclusive custom animations and unique visual effects. For players who prefer a different style, Soldier 76 will also receive a Mythic weapon skin later in the season.

Additionally, Blizzard is implementing significant enhancements to existing Mythic skins. In a recent blog post, they shared, “For the first time, fully maxed out Mythic Hero Skins can be enhanced with prestigious Gilded Aspects from the Mythic Shop, debuting sleek black and gold color variants.”

Moreover, major map updates are set to occur in Havana, Numbani, Circuit Royal, and Dorado, providing both attackers and defenders with improved strategic options.

One notable change is at Havana’s first point, which previously posed a significant challenge for attackers due to defensive strategies from spawn. The developers have introduced a new elevated area overlooking the payload to provide attackers with a slight advantage.

Numbani’s first point has also undergone substantial modifications, allowing attacking teams better access to the high ground on the left through the introduction of a new staircase.

New cover options have been implemented as well, enhancing the ability to deal with snipers, particularly on maps where they typically have the upper hand, like Circuit Royal.

Mark your calendars! Overwatch 2 Season 13 kicks off on October 15, and we can expect further announcements regarding balance changes and insights about the upcoming tank hero for S14 soon.
