Blizzard is marking two decades of World of Warcraft with an exciting Overwatch 2 collaboration event that introduces several WoW-themed skins to the game.
On September 13, Overwatch 2 released a crossover trailer, showcasing the special skins for each participating hero in the event.
In August, Blizzard announced that a Widowmaker Sylvanas skin was on the way, and at the end of the Season 12 trailer, they teased a Lich King Reinhardt skin.
Additionally, fans can expect these two cosmetics along with a few more legendary skins to unlock.
The new trailer provides a thrilling first-person ride through Blizzard World, featuring Warcraft representations of four heroes.
As seen in the trailer, Zenyatta will receive a Thrall skin, and Torbjorn will don a Diamond Magni skin. These four characters highlight some of the most iconic heroes and villains from WoW’s rich history.
Players expressed their enthusiasm for the new designs. “I need that Widow skin,” one commented on the announcement trailer.
“These skins look sweet. Definitely going to have to get that Rein skin,” noted another.
The trailer also confirmed that the crossover event will kick off on September 17, giving players a short wait until they can start collecting the new skins.
Overwatch 2’s crossover event skins have consistently impressed, with previous collaborations featuring One Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop, Transformers, and even K-pop group LE SSERAFIM.
While the specifics of Blizzard’s future plans for the event remain unclear, we will provide updates as new information becomes available.
