Overwatch 2 Update Brings End to Orisa Dominance for Players

The highly anticipated April 30 update for Overwatch 2 has successfully nerfed the powerful Orisa, leading to celebrations among players as the tank’s dominance in the meta comes to an end.

Prior to the April 30 update for Overwatch, the developers hinted at what changes would be included. Fans were immediately thrilled to hear that the powerful Orisa would finally be receiving a nerf after dominating the tank meta since the beginning of Season 9.

Since the release of the patch, Orisa’s survivability has notably decreased, causing her to be taken down a notch.

As part of the update, Orisa’s Javelin Spin now has a cooldown of 9 seconds instead of 7. One of the major changes was to her Fortify ability, which now has a shorter duration and causes players to move 20% slower while active.

The recent nerfs to Orisa have caused great celebration among fans as she was finally brought down a notch. In a new Reddit thread discussing the changes, one player wrote, “Good riddance, BOZO!”

“One player commented, “It’s been nuked from orbit.”Another player, a Junker Queen main, saw this as positive news.”

In addition to Junker Queen mains, other tank mains who do not play Orisa will also be rejoicing at the nerfs. However, the biggest winners of these changes are undoubtedly the Reinhardt mains.

“According to a tweet by pro Overwatch player and renowned Reinhardt main, LhCloudy, the recent nerfs have granted us freedom from the reign of Reinbros. Reacting to the changes, Flats, a popular Overwatch streamer and fellow Rein main, exclaimed that the horse has finally met its demise.”

After the significant power shift away from Orisa, it will be necessary to observe the direction of the meta. However, it is evident that her previous dominance in the meta has diminished.
