I must admit, the Palm Royale show was already incredibly extravagant, but episode 8 took it to a whole new level. Can you believe there was an actual whale in this episode? While the show is known for its odd and unexpected moments, a whale was definitely unexpected. It completely caught me off guard.
Despite this, I am eagerly anticipating the final two episodes. The conclusion of the previous episode left a major cliffhanger, and I am intrigued to discover what will happen next for Maxine and Norma.
1. Palm Royale Episode 8 Conclusion: Is the Whale Finally Identified?
At the conclusion of Palm Royale episode 8, Evelyn is left in tears and solitude on the shore, while Maxine and Norma are isolated on the deck. Norma uses her wheelchair to push Maxine into the water. Meanwhile, Eddie discovers Evelyn and refers to her as the most melancholy and stunning woman in the world, leading to a surprising kiss between them (gulp).
Although the identity of the whale remains a mystery, Maxine eventually finds herself struggling in the ocean. Surprisingly, the whale thanks her for her help. And to make things even more complicated, Robert learns that Mitzy was not cheating with Perry but was actually seeing Douglas.
Therefore, he brings Douglas to a bar to talk about the matter. However, during their conversation, the bar is raided and both men are apprehended. Alternatively, Norma could be seen as the whale, reclaiming what is rightfully hers.
What Happens to Evelyn After She Sees the Whale?
Upon seeing the whale, Evelyn experiences a deep sense of connection and is enchanted by its splendor. Maxine persists in finding a way to guide the whale back to the ocean, even attending a lecture on whale communication.
However, Douglas turns to Linda for financial support for his project with Pinky. He informs her that if she declines, he would have no choice but to accept Evelyn’s offer, essentially pressuring her into providing him with $3 million.
Despite being in Korea in 1950 with a fellow soldier, Robert was asked by his companion to go swimming with him, leading others to believe they were a couple. Later, Robert confides in Maxine that his past misdeeds caused the prince to leave him.
Today, the Dellacorte family is having their portrait taken for the local newspaper in preparation for their upcoming ball. Despite this joyous occasion, Norma’s animosity towards Maxine remains strong and she even expresses a desire to harm her in order to bring back a sense of normalcy.
During the interview, the sound of sad music can be heard from outside – it is the sorrowful sound of Robert playing for his prince.
Maxine quickly interrupts, cautioning Robert against wasting his time on someone who is not deserving of him.
Before the conversation can continue, Robert is surprised when they witness a whale beaching itself directly in front of them. The unexpected sight of the whale leaves Robert in shock, causing a temporary pause in the conversation.
Maxine is determined to get rid of the whale on Dellacorte beach because she thinks it will negatively affect her business. Yet, she may encounter more difficulties than she initially expected.
At the same time, Evelyn and Dinah, who are seemingly competing with Maxine, are plotting to sabotage her plans for an upcoming ball. They are contacting caterers and requesting for cottage cheese to be served instead of rib-eye, and for sloppy joes to be prepared without any meat.
Despite the chaos, Douglas pays a visit to Evelyn and reveals that he will not participate in her scheme to steal from Linda. He has alternate plans with Pinky. Meanwhile, Maxine joins a women’s group led by Mary as Linda has chosen to stay quiet following her father’s death.
The team is enthusiastic about supporting Maxine in her endeavor to rescue the whale.
Maxine makes the decision to have an open conversation with Linda regarding her current struggles. Linda encourages Maxine to be truthful with Robert, similar to a confession. Despite Linda not being able to physically see or hear her on the other side of the door, Maxine openly discusses her challenges.
Maxine discovers that Evelyn will be residing in a trailer with a limited budget and requests her assistance with the whale as well.
Evelyn is feeling disappointed due to the financial constraints. In the meantime, Robert goes to a gay bar and learns that the FBI agent Tom is also a member of the LGBTQ community.
3. Does Norma Succeed In Getting Maxine?
Despite Norma spiking Maxine’s cocktail in an attempt to kill her during the episode, she refuses to give up even when her plan fails.
Afterwards, Maxine brings Norma to Dinah Donohue’s (Leslie Bibb) yacht, where Axel Rosenhips’ birthday party is being held. Norma seizes another opportunity to eliminate Maxine.
After unlocking the wheelchair, she gives it free movement and then forcefully pushes Maxine overboard from the yacht.
Douglas gifted Maxine a stunning diamond bracelet, presumably using funds from Linda. He even prepared her favorite beverage, the grasshopper. However, their time together was cut short when Robert abruptly entered the house, pressing Maxine for explanations.
It is revealed that Tom desires to express gratitude to Maxine for her tip. As a result, he asks Robert to convey his thanks, indirectly revealing to Robert that Maxine has uncovered his deceitful identity as a prince.
Even though Maxine saved Robert, it is unclear if he was a good partner. Additionally, while Norma attempted to poison Maxine’s drink after getting out of her wheelchair, Maxine was saved from drinking the poisoned drink when they were once again interrupted, this time by Ann.
Following this, Ann revealed to Maxine that Norma was formerly involved romantically with Axel, the 90-year-old man whom Dinah is attempting to wed for his wealth.
After coming up with a fresh idea, Maxine invites Norma to join her at Dinah’s birthday celebration for Axel. Meanwhile, Ann lounges at home, sipping on a grasshopper drink and rummaging through Norma’s possessions. She stumbles upon something intriguing, but it remains to be seen if she will finish her drink before investigating further.
At the party, Dinah and Maxine engage in a heated argument when Eddie suddenly arrives. He urges Dinah to leave her yacht, the venue for the party, and elope with him.
Eddie claims to be enamored with Dinah, but she requires more than just words. Dinah takes charge and sets the yacht in motion, leaving Eddie behind. He moves on hastily, leaving us to anticipate what will occur next.
Mary motivates Maxine to continue her efforts in organizing the ideal beach ball event.
As the time comes for people to use the microphone to express Axel’s wishes, Maxine takes the opportunity and begins making whale sounds in order to assist the whale in returning to the ocean.
It is interesting to note that while whales are sea mammals, they have attempted to come onto land in the past but ultimately did not enjoy it and reverted back to living in the water. This could possibly foreshadow that Maxine may also go back to her roots as a country dweller. Only time will tell what the future holds for her.
Is Maxine Simmons’s Fate Revealed in Episode 8 of ‘Palm Royale’?
Despite plunging into the ocean, Maxine manages to stay afloat due to her strong swimming skills. She cries out for assistance, but unfortunately, the yacht sails away without coming to her rescue.
Despite the dire circumstances, Maxine is predicted to make it through the accident. The whale she assisted in returning to the sea after it was beached on the shore could potentially be her rescuer.
Despite this, Maxine remains oblivious to the fact that Norma intentionally tried to kill her and believes it was merely an accident.
As viewers eagerly await the upcoming episode, they can expect to be captivated by the intrigue surrounding Maxine’s survival and Norma’s potential reaction. The suspense only grows as it remains to be seen if Maxine will uncover Norma’s true intentions.
