The first season of Palm Royale has been leading up to an exciting finale, but a sudden twist takes the story in a tragic direction, leaving viewers shocked.
After nine episodes of the Palm Royale cast attempting to improve their behavior, they all gather at the Delacorte mansion for Norma’s Beach Ball. The event, hosted by Maxine and Evelyn, is filled with unexpected plot twists and a number of accidental shootings caused by gunfire.
1. Is Robert’s Fate Undetermined in the Palm Royale Finale?
Robert sustained a gunshot wound during the Palm Royale Finale event.
In the season 1 finale of Palm Royale, the intensity reached its peak. Throughout the previous episodes, subtle hints of impending chaos were dropped, and episode 5 did not disappoint. It was a pivotal moment that exposed the hidden truths of Douglas and Linda’s past.
The revelation served as a precursor for the remainder of the season, which took a significantly darker direction.
Unfortunately, the joyful occasion of Douglas and Linda’s wedding took a sudden turn for the worse. Due to her fiancé’s manipulation, Linda became consumed by envy and suspicion, leading her to accidentally shoot her own father instead of her intended target, Douglas. This unexpected turn of events certainly added a dramatic twist to the story.
Twenty years later, we are at the Beach Ball with Mary, Linda, Robert, and President Nixon. Maxine’s impressive persuasiveness has resulted in the president’s attendance at the event.
Despite her close proximity to success, no one was aware of Mary’s plan to assassinate Nixon during the finale of Palm Royale. She had gone to great lengths to ensure her plan remained a secret, including locking up Linda, the only person who knew about it, and successfully sneaking a gun into the Delacorte mansion.
Fortunately, Linda arrived just in time to save the day. However, things did not go according to plan. While attempting to redirect the gun, Linda mistakenly shot Robert instead of the president. It was a truly heart-stopping moment!
The conclusion of season 1 of Palm Royale left us with many unanswered questions. The fate of Robert remains a mystery and if the show is renewed for season 2, it will undoubtedly be the most pressing issue on viewers’ minds. I am eagerly anticipating discovering the truth.
Could Linda Go To Prison In Palm Royale?
Despite her wealth and influential contacts, Linda has managed to avoid being incarcerated in Palm Royale multiple times. However, the unintentional shooting of Robert may be the event that ultimately results in her imprisonment.
During her wedding, Linda accidentally shot her father.
Despite the fact that everyone who witnessed the event in Palm Beach knew about it, Norma was able to persuade them to keep quiet in order to protect herself. Linda, burdened with guilt for hurting her father, never faced any consequences for her actions, which were widely known in the community. This guilt stayed with her for the rest of her life.
Following the passing of Linda’s father, his wife Evelyn made a threat to expose Linda’s hidden secret, as there were no limitations on the prosecution of murder charges.
Despite the fact that nothing resulted from the threat, law enforcement officials raided Linda’s feminist group out of suspicion of planning to assassinate the president. In the final scene of Palm Royale’s finale, Linda was seen holding the same firearm that Mary had used in her attempt on the president’s life.
Despite Linda’s intention to safeguard the president, her previous connection with her father and the feminist organization may be used against her during the second season of Palm Royale.
3. Who Is Agnes In Palm Royale?
The mystery surrounding Norma’s past in Palm Royale was finally revealed at the end of the first season. As the heiress to a plastics and mouthwash empire, Norma’s rise to power in Palm Beach was clouded in uncertainty.
In the final episode of Palm Royale, Robert has a conversation with Axel, shedding light on their shared history and revealing a surprising truth about Norma’s true identity. This comes after Axel and Norma’s past engagement and subsequent separation, which ended in unclear circumstances.
After Norma’s father passed away during her college years, she inherited her family’s wealth. Coincidentally, her roommate Agnes, who had diabetes, also passed away unexpectedly.
As a result of Robert’s mistake in administering her insulin, Norma, who also happened to be diabetic, suffered an embolism. This realization led Robert to conclude that Norma was the same Agnes in Palm Royale, whose dangerous behavior could be traced back to her college years.
In truth, Agnes/Norma murdered the true Dellacorte heiress and assumed her persona, becoming a complete imposter. However, if Robert does not depart Palm Royale, this covert knowledge may be lost forever.
4. Why Maxine Exposed Everyone At The Beach Ball
Maxine had come up with a detailed plan for the Beach Ball event, which involved Astronaut Herkimer. She was grateful for his help in saving her after Norma pushed her into the water during the finale of Palm Royale episode 8.
It was intended for Herkimer to be the distinguished guest, sharing the limelight with President Nixon, while Maxine would close out the evening by performing Peggy Lee’s “Is That All There Is.”
Despite her efforts, Maxine’s plan quickly fell apart when Herkimer decided not to attend the Beach Ball after she rejected his advances. In a desperate attempt to salvage the party, Maxine disguised Robert in Herkimer’s suit, but her deceit ultimately led to the downfall of the event.
Just before her grand performance, Maxine was taken aback when she made a startling revelation: Norma had been plotting to kill her.
After this revelation, Mitzi confessed to Maxine that she was pregnant. Thinking that Perry was the father of the baby, Maxine encouraged her to tell him the truth.
As Maxine took the stage, she finally learned the truth – Mitzi had been having an affair with Douglas. In response, Maxine used her performance as a chance to expose the secrets of Palm Beach’s elite, having reached a point where she had nothing left to lose.
5. Explanation of Norma’s Proposal in the Palm Royale Finale
Halfway through season 1 of Palm Royale, Norma came back to the Delacorte mansion and was placed under the conservatorship of Maxine.
As long as Norma remained unable to care for herself, Maxine’s conservatorship gave her full authority over Norma’s well-being and finances. However, as Norma secretly regained her independence, she devised a plan to reclaim her wealth and eliminate Maxine from her life.
Despite getting closer to Maxine and seeing through Norma’s agenda against her, Robert ultimately denied Norma’s proposal when he learned that she was actually Agnes. Although Maxine’s confession and the shooting at the Beach Ball may have potentially freed Norma from her conservatorship, it was too late as Robert had already distanced himself from her.
Nixon’s Role In The Palm Royale Finale Explained
The historical context of Palm Royale is crucial to the story, offering insight into the societal divide not only in Palm Beach but also in the entire country. Taking place in 1969, the United States was in the midst of the Vietnam War, with the conflict having lasted for over fifteen years, and President Nixon was facing an upcoming reelection.
Despite the growing momentum of the second wave of feminism, as demonstrated by the actions of characters such as Linda, Virginia, and their acquaintances, the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision was not passed by the Supreme Court until four years later.
Maxine and her associates at Palm Royale represented the traditional stance, while they were emblematic of a growing progressive movement.
The clashing beliefs of these individuals frequently resulted in tense moments, ultimately building up to a dramatic climax in the first season finale of Palm Royale.
In the seventh episode of Palm Royale, Mary’s interactions with Linda’s friends led her to undergo a radical transformation. She became convinced that assassinating the president was the ultimate solution to the world’s problems.
Despite this, Nixon’s presidency and the resulting divisions were always a prevalent theme in Palm Royale, and ultimately served as the catalyst for the Beach Ball disaster.
