Palworld Players Stunned by Egg Incubation Inconsistency

Palworld players are stunned to discover that the game’s finicky incubation mechanic considers lava too cold to incubate an egg.

Catching Pals in the wild isn’t the only way to fill your Paldex in Palworld. Players can also breed Pals, or hatch them from eggs they find while exploring the Palpagos Islands. While breeding is a great way to discover new Pals, players unlock the Egg Incubator much earlier in the game than the Breeding Ranch.

Hatching special eggs, Large or Huge, increases the chance of obtaining unique Pals. The Pals hatched from these eggs are often higher level or larger in size than regular Pals.

But Palworld’s egg incubation system isn’t perfect, as one player recently discovered while trying to hatch a large, hot egg.

Palworld player discovers lava isn’t hot enough to incubate eggs

On Reddit, user u/haileygeane shared her amusing discovery. The screenshot says “Seems a little cold” while the Incubator is sitting on lava.

“Ah yes, the area where the lava is cold! “, quipped a player. “It’s the minibiome on the continent, where the temperature is mostly neutral,” another agreed.

“This needs to be corrected for my mental health,” another player added. Another user explained the incubation peculiarities of the biome. He said: “The northern and southern ends of the volcanic region are hot, but the central area is normal temperature (despite the presence of lava everywhere).”

Huge Eggs often have a chance to hatch Pals with powerful stats. Other players have taken the opportunity to share incubation tips, like turning off the egg spawn timer. Or add additional heat sources to increase the temperature of the lava.

Bugs and finicky mechanics are to be expected when a game is in early access. Hopefully, Pocketpair plans to polish the egg incubation functionality in Palworld following this kind of feedback.
