Palworld players were surprised by this “crazy” weapon

Palworld has captured the attention of millions of gamers around the world with its simple pitch of ‘ Pokémon with guns ‘. Of course, our own review explains that the game is much more than that.

The game’s survival and building mechanics are just as important as its collection of creatures. This doesn’t mean that a significant portion of Palworld isn’t Pokémon with guns, and you’d better be careful about what weapons you use.

Reddit user u/fluffy_boy_cheddar has warned other Palworld players to avoid unlocking a particular weapon. According to them, the Decal Gun weapon set is a waste of valuable Ancient Technology Points.

For those who don’t know, the Decal Gun weapon set is a suite of five weapons that unlock at tech level 42. Unlocking the node in the tech tree allows you to craft weapons that apply the image of a particular Pal on everything on which they are drawn.

The player tested the weapons and has since released a public service announcement so players don’t “waste their tech points”on them. “I thought it would be cool to create a graffiti wall at my base,” they explained.

They made the Decal Gun 5 which projects an image of Relaxaurus. It sounds fun, but there’s a pretty significant downside. “While it’s nice to see the paintings, they disappear after a minute or two,” they elaborated. “So lame.”

Other players drawn to the allure of bombarding bases with adorable little Pal paintings expressed similar dissatisfaction with the lack of permanence the Decal Gun weapon provided. It also requires rare Ancient Civilization parts to craft, which represents a big loss for little gain.

Of course, some players think that the hilarious potential of Decal weapons makes up for their flaws.

You can actually cover unsuspecting Pals with hideously distorted decals, and it’s more than worth it for some players.
