On the 13th of October, actor Park Seo-joon made a reference to director Bong Joon-ho’s acclaimed film “Parasite”during an interview on the YouTube channel “Fairy Jaehyung”.
When questioned about his process for selecting roles, Park Seo-joon emphasized, “It’s essential that the project is enjoyable. I also seek out characters that I feel I can effectively embody, portraying a fresh aspect of myself that doesn’t align with my past roles.”
In connection with his latest role in “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 2, Park Seo-joon expressed his current dilemmas regarding role selection: “I find myself at a challenging stage in choosing characters. Portraying younger roles doesn’t seem fitting for me anymore, yet transitioning to portray men in their 40s feels premature. Many men my age are already married, so I aim to navigate this transition thoughtfully. Committing to a role requires a year’s dedication, so I ponder how to utilize that time wisely.”
Additionally, Park Seo-joon reflected on his strong bond with Choi Woo-sik, highlighting their collaborative efforts in projects like “Jinny’s Kitchen” , “Fight For My Way” , “Parasite” , and “Family” .
He amusingly recounted a casting story, stating, “Choi Woo-sik assisted me with ‘Fight For My Way’. Regarding ‘Parasite’, Director Bong Joon-ho posed the question to Woo-sik, ‘Who’s the one individual you would want to trample underfoot the most?’ Woo-sik jokingly replied, ‘Park Seo-joon’. After this, Jung Jae-hyung playfully added, ‘For me, the person I would like to trample on is Lee Juck,’ which evoked laughter from everyone.”
