Parents Create Fake News Reports to Trick Kids into Cleaning Their Rooms

Some parents have become popular on the internet after sharing videos of their creative strategy of using fake news reports to motivate their children to clean their rooms.

On April 27, 2024, a mother of four, known as ‘AnnaTwinsies’ on TikTok, shared a video offering a “life hack for parents.”The video features a fake newscast edited by the TikToker, in which the anchor discusses the “top news of the hour,”including the fact that two of her twins have neglected to clean their room.

According to the news report, if the children do not clean up today, a special service will come and remove all of their toys from the house. Immediately after hearing this, Anna’s four kids rushed into their bedrooms to tidy up the mess.

Anna shared a helpful tip with parents in her caption: “If your kids are reluctant to clean their room, here’s a life hack for you. You’re welcome!”

Despite not disclosing the exact process behind the creation of the news broadcasts, it can be assumed that she utilized AI technology to fabricate the fake newscasters. The TikTok video gained almost a million views in a short period of time, and fans flooded the comment section with their opinions.

A month passed since the TikTok was originally shared, when Twitter user Enezator posted a similar video featuring a parent utilizing AI to create a fake news broadcast as a tactic to motivate their children to tidy their rooms.

Yegen’s post has received an impressive 7.5 million views in just one day, along with over 680 comments from individuals expressing their thoughts in the responses.

According to one user, this is the action of a malevolent mastermind.

Another person remarked, “You are witnessing a true master at work.”
