A young family was taken aback when their daughter mentioned hearing “monsters”in the wall. It turned out to be a colony of thousands of buzzing bees residing within the wall.
Ashley, a content creator, used TikTok to chronicle her daughter’s statement of hearing monsters in the wall, only to discover that it was actually a swarm of over 50,000 bees.
The viral video received over 9.1 million views within six days and features a thermal image of a wall in a house with a noticeable heat source behind it.
The wall appears as orange as the person standing next to it, as depicted in the video. The text overlay reads: “When your daughter has been hearing ‘monsters’ in the wall.”
The scene then shifted to an image showing the aftermath of cutting a large hole in the wall, which exposed a beehive housing thousands of bees. The accompanying text read: “as it turns out, there were 50,000 buzzing bees”accompanied by a crying emoji.

In a subsequent video, Ashley disclosed that a beekeeper had been called in for assistance. According to the beekeeper, they were able to remove 20,000 bees and over 100 pounds of honeycomb in just one day, which would have taken them eight months to do on their own.
Fortunately, they had located the queen bee, allowing them to relocate the entire bee colony to their new residence. The following day, they successfully removed an additional 20,000 bees before sealing off the wall to avoid any potential stings.
According to the website Buzz About Bees, the typical beehive houses approximately 20,000 to 80,000 bees, all under the rule of one queen bee.
According to Ashley’s response when her followers questioned how she failed to notice the large insect colony being built under her roof, she stated that it only takes a small number of bees and an unseen swarm to form a colony of approximately 50,000 bees.

Ashley commented that her daughter’s night terrors have ceased since meeting the “monster Hunter”and having the bees removed. Another extraction was done today, and she hopes that if the bees do not attempt to rebuild the comb, it will last for at least two weeks.
During the second extraction to retrieve the remaining bees, another hive was discovered in the ceiling directly above the initial hive. As a result, the entire process had to be restarted in order to gather thousands more bees.
Despite the third extraction, Ashley shared in her update on day 10 that her daughter’s bedroom remained off-limits due to the abundance of bees still flying around in the wall and scattered on the floor.

Due to the rapid pace of events, she clarified that they were unable to remove any of the honey residue or bees from the room. As a result, the clothes, toys, and furniture would require thorough cleaning.
Ashley revealed that their home insurance would not cover the extensive honey damage in the walls caused by the hives. This damage would require repairs to be made.
In her TikTok video, Ashley showcased the full extent of the damage to her wall, revealing bees coming and going through the gaps. She also included a text overlay that read, “POV: My home insurance won’t cover any of the bee-related damages because they claim it’s not a home-related issue.”
She commented that the majority of home insurance companies do not provide coverage for pest or insect damage.
