Character Insights: Jae-yoon and Young-ju
Park Jung-min, celebrated for his roles in shows like “Smugglers” and “Start-Up,” takes on the role of Lee Jae-yoon, a soldier who embodies the concept of the late bloomer, grappling with uncertainties about his future as he navigates a perilous environment. Meanwhile, Jisoo, who previously gained acclaim for her role in “Snowdrop” and is set for an upcoming feature in “The Prophet: Omniscient Reader” , plays Young-ju, a young professional embarking on her career journey against the backdrop of crisis.
On-Set Chemistry: Building Relationships
During the press event, Park shared his admiration for Jisoo, stating, “I’ve always been an avid fan of BLACKPINK and specifically Jisoo. I once even enlisted the help of actress Kim Go-eun to acquire their autographs for me. Now, I proudly display two signed albums, one dedicated to ‘Jung-min Oppa.’ That made me feel like I’ve led a fulfilling life.”
Reflecting on their collaboration, Park mentioned, “Initially, we participated in around ten filming sessions together to develop the emotional connection between our characters. However, a lengthy hiatus followed before we were reunited on set.”
He elaborated, “While filming, I frequently received updates about Jisoo’s scenes, which kept her on my mind. Filming during the sweltering summer was challenging, yet Jisoo’s unwavering positivity and cheerful nature were truly inspiring. Her smile behind the camera taught me invaluable lessons.”
Expectations for Future Seasons
With a light-hearted touch, Park expressed a desire for more romantic moments between his character and Jisoo’s, humorously lamenting, “I hope we get to explore deeper romantic scenes in a potential second season. I’m eagerly looking forward to this!”
