2024 SBS Drama Awards: A Night of Recognition for Park Shin-hye
The 2024 SBS Drama Awards took place on December 21st at the prestigious SBS Prism Tower located in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. This year’s ceremony was hosted by the talented trio of Shin Dong-yeop, Kim Hye-yoon, and Kim Ji-yeon, who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening.
Praise for “The Judge from Hell”
Among the evening’s noteworthy moments, actress Park Shin-hye earned the Director’s Award for her remarkable performance in the drama “The Judge from Hell.” This prestigious accolade is awarded to the most outstanding actor as chosen by drama directors, highlighting Park’s exceptional talent and dedication to her craft.
A Heartfelt Acceptance Speech
Standing proudly on stage, Park Shin-hye expressed her gratitude during her acceptance speech. She began by thanking screenwriter Jo In-soo for crafting the character Kang Bit-na, which resonated deeply with her. She also praised director Park Jin-hyo for his unwavering support, stating, “Thank you for taking great care of me and always praising me, ensuring I felt comfortable while acting.”
Celebrating a Best Couple Win
On the same night, Park Shin-hye was also honored with the Best Couple Award alongside her co-star Kim Jae-young. She took the opportunity to acknowledge his significant contribution to her success in the drama, saying, “Though he said he was really happy to become Park Shin-hye’s man in this drama, I believe I was able to shine thanks to his support.”
Reflecting on Two Decades in the Industry
Park Shin-hye reminisced about her journey in acting, recalling that she had received the Best Young Actress award at the same ceremony 21 years ago as a child. She reflected, “I believe that it was thanks to the love of so many viewers and drama fans that I am able to receive such a big award here after 21 years.” Expressing appreciation for the audience’s acceptance of her growth, she remarked, “I always think about my changes and how long I can continue this career.”
A Personal Touch
In her heartfelt speech, Park also acknowledged her CEO, team members, and her family, particularly her husband, Choi Tae-joon. She shared, “It’s not easy to meet people who match me well in life. Among them, there’s Choi Tae-joon. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for always supporting me, as someone who often struggles with self-esteem.”
Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae-joon, who is one year younger than her, celebrated their marriage in 2022 after four years of dating. The couple has since welcomed one son into their family.
