Warzone Season 2 Update Patch Notes

Return of the Fortune’s Keep card

Carte Fortune's Keep Warzone
Activision

Welcome back to Fortune’s Keep! How has the island changed?

  • Expandable Bridges
    • Three extendable bridges over road gaps are now present.
    • They’re not portable, but you can extend or retract them across a gap in the road using a small control console, one on each side of the bridge.
    • The controls respond to more than just melee interactions, in case you want to activate the bridge remotely.

Additionally, this updated version of Fortune’s Keep will encompass 11 locations, detailed below.

  • Back Quay and Caves (North Coast)
    • The grandeur of the Keep, with its opulent tapestries, mosaic floors and gilded throne room, is largely intact. Look north for additional paths: With the arrival of water vehicles, the steep northern cliffs below the Keep were modified, adding a rear dock for unloading cargo, as well as a rustic cargo elevator allowing travel quickly to the top of the ramparts. Beneath the castle’s foundations lies a rock tunnel with openings to the sea, which runs east to west, all providing tactical access to and from the Keep.
  • Fishing Piers and Cliff Paths (Northwest Coast)
    • The ramparts on the west side of the Keep may have seen better days, but the layout remains familiar. To the north along the coast, discover a second wharf housing fishing boats and a bait shop. The area north of the Terraces has received additional construction changes, with ziplines, additional stairs along the cliffside, and small cave openings to pass through.
  • Cemetery (Northwest Coast)
    • The ancient stone crypts still stand on the small plateau above the City. You might want to count on exploring this dark place thoroughly, if only because of the connection tunnels digging downward towards the epicenter of the action!
  • City: Lower Part (West Coast)
    • The coastal town is still as densely populated as you remember, with an old fortress tower, brightly colored apartments and shops, and a turret defending the cove against maritime attackers. At the top of the new Police Station on the north side of the cove is a helipad.
  • Town: Upper Part (Southwest Coast)
    • Initial evidence of a large seismic event hitting the island is visible in the southeast corner of the City, where a large fissure has cut through the land.
  • Restaurant (Southwest Coast)
    • To the east of the Overhang (a fortified plateau with an old multi-story building and Salty’s Snack Bar attached to it), on a slightly lower plateau overlooking the sea, is Trattoria Il Luna, a newly built restaurant in place of the hut and military tents that were here previously. The restaurant offers more than just great views of the south of the island; there is external access to the tunnels under the cliffs.
  • Konni Outpost (Bay, Northeast Coast)
    • Once a little-visited location, the Bay’s old POI now gives Operators their first clue to the faction behind the island’s partial collapse. The Konni Group has established a small outpost here, including a mechanical garage, several small server and monitoring rooms, and a storage cellar with Ascendor access to the eastern perimeter of the Dungeon.
  • Jetty (Camp, South East Coast)
    • Once a military camp with tents and a small watchtower, significant construction has since modified the southeast coast into a pier and adjacent Winery Tasting Room, as well as a gas station and Rohan Oil convenience store.
  • Lighthouse (South-East Coast)
    • Although Smugglers’ Cove has suffered cataclysmic damage, the initially alarming cracks along the exterior of the old lighthouse have not yet toppled the structure.
  • Vineyard (East)
    • The chateau specializing in fine wines has seen better days, with massive structural problems visible at the premises. This includes a large crack across the central courtyard, allowing new access to the now flooded wine cellar. Maybe this water can be drained? The old chapel, now used as storage for the vast fermentation barrels, has lost its tower, which lies in three large pieces.
  • Guardhouse (Center)
    • The extent of the damage caused by a colossal underground explosion is most visible when investigating the Dungeon Guardhouse in the center of the map. The ramparts, several turrets, the arched entrance and the barbican (the outer circular defensive tower) suffered major damage, with the barbican itself sinking into the unstable ground below.
  • Ground Zero (Cave, South Coast)
    • Nearly unprecedented destruction by the Konni Group erased an original point of interest from the map. The Cave is now a deep crater, with portions of the island, including main roads and buildings, all sunken or fallen into a vast crevasse. The resulting wreckage should be urgently explored, as the crater’s epicenter was revealed to be a large Konni laboratory with a winding network of corridors, chambers and tunnels.

Mode Ranked Warzone Resurgence

We’re excited to introduce Ranked mode to Call of Duty: Warzone this year by first bringing competitive experiences to the wildly popular and action-packed Resurgence game mode. Similar to our previous iteration of this mode, Ranked Resurgence will utilize competitive settings developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, with input and support from our partners at Sledgehammer Games.

Ranked Resurgence aims to provide a competitive and fair gameplay system while striving to ensure a consistent experience similar to other Resurgence modes. To achieve this, Resurgence Ranked is launching with initial gameplay restrictions and adjustments.

Restricted content will be re-evaluated each season with the possibility of reintroducing content after fixes or balance adjustments.

We are constantly monitoring game status and will respond to live situations on a case-by-case basis.

Launch Preparations

Launch Matchmaking: During Ranked Resurgence’s launch period, skill division matchmaking restrictions will be relaxed, allowing players who move up skill divisions faster than the rest of the population to find matches.

Skill matchmaking will continue to place high skill division players into matches appropriate to their skill level. As more players reach higher divisions, we will begin to tighten our matchmaking settings.

Rogue Signal Public Event

During a game, expect the Signal Rogue public event to appear periodically, pitting you against other players and teams in a 90-second objective-based mission. Money, XP and a special unique Reward Cache are at stake. After a notification, expect a new HUD element with a goal, scoreboard and your (or your team’s) ranking compared to your rivals. The steps to complete are as follows:

  • Receive the Objective: All teams receive the same task. Examples include “Get the most kills”, “Deal the most damage to players”, or “Open the most crates”.
  • Complete the Objective: All teams can optionally complete the objective within the next 90 seconds. The top three teams receive cash prizes of varying amounts and the location of the special Prize Cache.
  • Claim the Reward: The Reward Cache remains locked for the next 30 seconds. The team that opens the Cache first receives the reward. Rewards are random.

Seven Zombie power-ups (four familiar and three brand new) are available across the map and are found by opening certain crates or eliminating rival players.
