Filming for Peacemaker Season 2 has begun, and a director working on the show has revealed that a surprise (yet highly anticipated) character will be making an appearance.
The excitement for Peacemaker Season 2 has been at an all-time high ever since it was announced that James Gunn is now at the helm of the DC Universe. With the first season being a huge success, fans can only imagine how much more entertaining and wild things will become under Gunn’s increased creative control.
Naturally, John Cena will reprise his role as the main protagonist, while Joel Kinnaman will also join the cast as Rick Flag, as per a recent update from the director on Instagram.
Peter Sollett announced his participation in the TV show, sharing that he has completed his first week on set. He expresses gratitude towards various individuals involved in the production, such as Gunn, Cena, other cast members, and Kinnaman.
It should be pointed out that Kinnaman’s name was removed from the post after it was edited. Was this an error, or did Sollett purposely make a premature announcement?
Despite the fact that the edit was received late, it was not surprising as the news had already spread rapidly. Fans were overjoyed to witness his return, speculating on how it would unfold due to his current situation. One response even suggested that there would be flashbacks involving his father.
A second person expresses their hope that it is just flashbacks, while a third person praises Joel’s acting abilities and is excited about the possibility of him returning for season 2.
It remains to be seen what the truth is, but DC and Warner Bros may need to provide an update soon if Kinnaman is not involved. Alternatively, they could make an official announcement during San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
