Fast food patrons were amazed upon viewing a video of a massive mansion that had been transformed into a McDonald’s establishment – adorned with luxurious decor.
The property in question has a long history dating back to 1795 when it was first used as a farmhouse by the descendants of Hempstead’s founders.
Throughout the years, this building has served various purposes, including a funeral home before it was transformed into a bougie McDonald’s restaurant. With its shuttered windows and brick chimneys, stepping inside feels like entering a fairytale.
Despite McDonald’s taking over the space in the 1980s, the locals of Hempstead were determined to preserve the historical structure of the mansion.
@sharmedlife Have you been to the world’s most beautiful @McDonald’s? This 2 story restaurant dubbed the “McDonald’s Mansion” is housed inside a historical landmark in New Hyde Park, NY! #mcdonalds #mcdonaldsmansion #mcdonalds🍟 #ny #newyork #longisland #newhydepark #newhydeparkny #historical #historicallandmark #thingstodoinny #nyhistory #mcmansion
Thus, the ‘McMansion’ was born – a McDonald’s establishment embellished with dangling light fixtures, luxurious tables and chairs, a glass sunroom, and an impressive staircase.
TikToker @sharmedlife shared a video on her channel of her visit to the McMansion, showcasing its grandeur and leaving viewers in awe of its beauty.
One person wrote in a comment that has since been removed, “I think McD’s is great. I’m a big fan of the filet-o-fish and could definitely picture myself enjoying one here. The place is absolutely beautiful!”
“I am fortunate to live very close to this McDonald’s. It has been in the neighborhood for a long time. I often forget that not everyone knows about it,”another person added.
“According to another viewer, this establishment was known as Luigi’s and was my childhood home during the 1950s when it was owned by my grandparents.”
The McDonald’s McMansion isn’t the sole restaurant causing a stir. In February, a man discovered an abandoned McDonald’s establishment that had remained untouched since the 1980s.
