Perfect Match’s Dominique defends herself from “overreacting” Season 2 storyline

Despite being from the same season of Perfect Match, Dominique Defoe and Bryton Constantine are not on good terms and the rest of the cast has taken sides.

Despite being classified as reality TV, it is widely understood that what is presented on screen is not always an accurate representation of the full reality.

To ensure that episodes meet a specific length of time on air, certain scenes must be edited and shortened, potentially resulting in a negative portrayal of certain stars.

One participant in Perfect Match Season 2 learned this lesson the difficult way, and she is now sharing her experience.

Dominique Defoe (Too Hot To Handle) and Bryton Constantine (Squid Game: The Challenge) were initially paired together in the first episode, but their relationship quickly took a downturn.

In particular, there was a specific scene in which it seemed as though Dominique was expressing her frustration towards Bryton after he mistakenly referred to Pilates as yoga.

On June 8, the THTH alum posted a video on TikTok to address the criticism she received for her on-screen argument with Bryton and share her perspective.

She stated that the entire context of their verbal exchange was not shown, and that there was actually a lot more that happened beforehand which caused their disagreement.

“According to the clip, the disagreement between me and my first match regarding yoga and the challenge was not the primary cause of our argument. Our argument stemmed from my defense of entire groups of people, while he continuously expressed hateful rhetoric.”

During the filming process, she continued to claim that Bryton used “hate speech” and faced both “homophobia and misogyny.”

having the small moments where you felt like your voice was pointless and felt completely hopeless/panicked be the storyline is not for the weak but neither is reality TV. and that was excruciating to watch but i think i’m just being hard on myself for a situation that was extremely difficult to navigate. as always, i love you guys and HAPPY FREAKING PRIDE🌈 #perfectmatch #perfectmatchseason2

Beneath Dominique’s TikTok video, there were numerous comments filled with supportive messages, including some from their co-stars, coming to their defense.

According to Christine Obanor, “We have great love and unwavering support for you.”

Brittan Byrd added, “Don’t hold back, Dom! We’ve all been eagerly anticipating your words.”

As of now, Bryton has chosen not to publicly address her allegations and it is likely that she will continue to refrain from doing so until the rest of the season has been broadcasted.
