When your beloved show is abruptly canceled, what can you do? The fans of the horror series Evil have taken matters into their own hands and launched a petition to persuade Netflix to save the show. They have put in a great effort for their cause.
Horror movie enthusiasts are aware that 2024 has produced some of the most exceptional films in the genre. However, for new TV shows, the outcome has not been as successful.
Despite its success as a horror series on Paramount Plus, Evil will be concluding after Season 4, as full-fledged horror storylines have been scarce.
In the midst of the science vs. religion debate, Psychologist Kristen Bouchard and aspiring priest David Acosta are forced to collaborate in order to investigate the mysterious and supernatural events plaguing the church.
Despite the cancellation of Season 5, fans are not accepting it. In reaction to the show’s end, a petition has been created on change.org, placing the decision in Netflix’s hands.
The petition states: “Being a loyal supporter of Evil, I have been completely engrossed by its outstanding cast, excellent writing, and captivating storylines. This show has consistently provided top-notch entertainment and compelling plots that keep audience members on the edge of their seats.”
According to the statement, the show’s devoted fanbase serves as evidence of its influence and widespread appeal.
“We strongly advocate for Netflix to renew this remarkable series for a fifth season. Such a decision would not only fulfill the desires of numerous devoted fans, but also support the continued triumph of this exceptional show.”
Although there has been no official announcement, fans’ speculations are not unfounded. Many beloved TV shows from the past, like Fire Country and Secret Diary of a Call Girl, are being revived on the streaming service.
The fate of Evil after Season 4 remains a mystery, but fans are holding out hope for a positive outcome in the meantime.
According to a post on Reddit, one fan expressed their desire for an open-ended ending for the show. They mentioned that they heard the show’s creators are actively seeking a new network to continue the series, and even referenced a joke in the latest episode about the show’s strong viewership. The fan remains hopeful that the show will find success in its search for a new home.
“Despite being cancelled after a single season, many of my other favorite horror shows, I am grateful that this incredible show managed to run for 4 seasons.”
While waiting, take a look at the top-rated horror films available on Prime Video and the latest TV series being streamed this month.
