PewDiePie Criticizes KSI for Copyright Strikes Against YouTubers Using His Music

Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg, a prominent figure on YouTube, has vocally criticized KSI for issuing copyright strikes against creators who use his latest track, “Thick Of It,” during their streams, especially now that it has become a popular meme across the internet.

The topic of copyright strikes has long been a contentious issue among YouTubers and streamers, often seen as a drastic and provoking action that can lead to significant backlash.

Notably, we’ve witnessed some serious conflicts arising from copyright disputes, such as the feud involving Alinity and PewDiePie in 2019, where Alinity retaliated with strikes after PewDiePie referred to her as a ‘Twitch Thot’ in his video, leading her to target other YouTubers who commented on the situation.

PewDiePie now finds himself embroiled in a similar controversy, as he openly criticized KSI for penalizing individuals who incorporate his song “Thick Of It” into their content.

During his livestream on October 14, PewDiePie expressed his frustration, stating, “Listen to KSI’s music? Absolutely not. He has taken my best video away, and I’m still upset about it.” He went on to suggest that KSI should consider making songs about copyright strikes, implying that it occupies most of his focus.

Even after his critique, PewDiePie did give KSI’s music a chance, describing it as “very corporate” in nature.

He also raised the question of whether KSI was pressured into producing this track or if it was truly his own decision to release it.

As has been observed, KSI’s new song has faced a substantial amount of ridicule online. A game called ‘Survive KSI’s Song’ has been created, which popular streamer IShowSpeed tried out during a recent broadcast. The Sidemen have also playfully teased KSI directly about the song.

The lyrics have taken on a life of their own as well, evolving into a copypasta that is making its rounds on social media platforms, indicating that this topic is likely to remain relevant for a while.
