PewDiePie Responds to MrBeast’s Tips for Aspiring YouTubers

YouTube phenomenon PewDiePie couldn’t suppress his laughter at fellow content creator MrBeast’s suggestions for aspiring influencers.

Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg held the title of the most-subscribed creator on YouTube for many years until he was surpassed by Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson in 2022.

Since that shift, both YouTubers have maintained a friendly relationship, even collaborating on a video in early 2023. However, this hasn’t stopped PewDiePie from expressing his honest opinions.

In a YouTube video released on September 30, PewDiePie teamed up with fellow influencer CinnamonToastKen to humorously critique “bad”YouTube advice, which included some of MrBeast’s recommendations.

During the video, MrBeast encouraged content creators to envision their journey over a long-term, ten-year timeline, pushing them to “work like hell”for a decade to achieve success.

“That’s a huge commitment,” PewDiePie chuckled. “Ten years! I see the value, but wow. …Imagine you’re nine years in, and still no one cares about your channel, and you’re thinking, ‘Just one more year, I got this!’”

The duo further deliberated on MrBeast’s assertion that many creators’ initial videos may not attract views, suggesting that aspiring influencers should aim to produce 100 videos and “enhance something each time.”

“I got views on my first video,” Ken remarked.

“Well, there you have it!” PewDiePie laughed. “What does MrBeast know about YouTube?”

“That was quite some time ago,” Ken pointed out. “Today, it’s exceptionally tough to make it.”

“For the first time, it seems like the algorithm actually promotes new videos from smaller channels,” PewDiePie countered. “That never happened before.”

Reflecting on his own journey, PewDiePie seemed to partially agree with MrBeast’s teachings. “You really have to put in the effort,” he noted. “It’s like anything else; if you aim to stand out, there will be countless others trying the same. You simply need to work really hard.”

PewDiePie continues to be one of YouTube’s most-subscribed creators, currently holding 8th place. MrBeast has now claimed the title of the most-subscribed channel after overtaking T-Series in 2024. Despite facing current criticism, he continues to garner tens of millions of views with each new upload and collaborates with other creators on innovative projects.
