Peyz Sets New Kill Record at MSI 2024 Finals as Gen.G Wins

Peyz, the ADC for Gen.G, was highly sought after in the professional League of Legends scene last year. His time with the team has undoubtedly been beneficial, as he recently broke the all-time MSI record and surpassed the kill record for any tier 1 League by a significant margin.

After inquiring with Gumayusi about the ADC position at MSI 2024, he expressed that hard carry, late game hyperscalers are not particularly effective in the present meta. However, to give due credit to Guma, Peyz’s success on Kalista was not on a traditional late game ADC.

Although Kalista frequently faces difficulties with being zoned and targeted in the late game, the way Peyz performed and Gen.G strategized around him ultimately placed this ADC standout in a position to create a historic moment.

Naturally, he also finished the game with a penta.

The former global record for most kills in a game was 19, achieved by Uzi while playing for RNG with Kog’Maw against Fnatic at the 2017 World Championship. Similarly, the previous record for most kills in a tier 1 tournament was set by Space on CJ Entus Frost in the LCK all the way back in 2013.

Meanwhile, Peyz achieved a new all-time kill record of 28 kills in a single match, surpassing previous records even in higher leagues. This impressive feat was largely due to Lehends’ exceptional Blitzcrank hooks and the solid frontline presence of both his top laner and jungler. They created the necessary space for Peyz to secure his record-breaking kills.

Consequently, Peyz was primed for triumph at this location. Furthermore, he is just a single element of what is arguably the top team in the world at present. Chovy has been a dominant force in his home country for several years, Canyon has a track record of impressive global achievements and a world championship under his belt, and Lehends is one of the most experienced players in the world. It is certain that his guidance and wisdom have greatly contributed to Peyz’s growth and progress.

In regards to Kiin, it is possible that he is currently the top top laner in the world and has held this title for many years, despite not participating in most international events.

As of now, Gen.G has not yet secured the series victory despite their impressive performance. They are only one match away from closing out the series, but BLG still has the opportunity to make a comeback and potentially reverse sweep if Gen.G makes a mistake.
