As Halloween approaches, players of Phasmophobia are witnessing a surge in paranormal occurrences. This spike is attributed to the Blood Moon Event, the inaugural community challenge that players can undertake collectively. Curious about how you can participate in this thrilling challenge?
Blood Moon Challenge: Locations and Participation Requirements
The Blood Moon Event marks Phasmophobia’s Halloween special for 2024. Throughout this event, specific sites are influenced by Blood Moon weather, resulting in formidable ghosts that are challenging to confront. However, the stakes are higher, leading to greater rewards, including a variety of ID Card designs, new trophies, and enhanced completion rewards.
To monitor this event, players can utilize the newly introduced Event Board located in the warehouse. Since this is a community-driven event, accomplishing the objectives contributes towards the overall completion of the event stages. Keep in mind that this is a limited-time event, spanning approximately 15 days.
The Blood Moon event is not available in every area. You can only enhance your participation in the challenge at these four selected locations:
- 42 Edgefield Road
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Point Hope
- 13 Willow Street
Currently, only these four sites have Blood Moon weather active. After you finish this event, you’ll unlock the ability to enable this weather across other maps. Below are the criteria to take part in this event:
- Correctly Identify Ghosts
- Complete Optional Objectives
- Capture Photographs of Any Totems Discovered
While the first two objectives are straightforward, the third task poses a unique challenge that demands your attention. These Blood Totems can be elusive and are tricky to photograph correctly.
Blood Totem Locations in Phasmophobia
Blood Totems appear as vase-like structures topped with a miniature Blood Moon, scattered across the event-specific locations. Some Totems may be immediately visible at the entrance, whereas others require more thorough exploration.
These totems spawn randomly, meaning their locations will change with each session. Once you spot a Totem, make sure to snap a photo to earn Blood Points. For the best results, take the picture from close range to achieve a three-star rating; distant shots will yield lower ratings and fewer points.
Rewards from the Blood Moon Event
Despite the heightened challenges posed by Blood Moon stages, the effort is worthwhile due to the valuable rewards at stake. The Blood Moon event offers a range of rewards, which include:
- Blood Moon ID Card (Reward for Stage 1)
- Upgraded ID Card (Reward for Stage 2)
- Blood Moon Trophy (Reward for Stage 3)
- Unlocking Blood Moon Weather (Reward for Stage 3)
- Increased Final Completion Reward (+10% on Blood Moon locations)
Claiming Blood Moon Event Rewards
Once all stages of the Blood Moon Event are completed, players cannot claim their rewards from the Event Board. Instead, rewards must be obtained through the Blood Altar situated in the center of the Warehouse.
After finishing each stage, approach the Blood Altar and press E to claim your rewards. The additional completion bonus will automatically be applied to your final stage reward without needing further action.
