Interview with ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin Puts HYBE Founder Bang Si Hyuk On Blast
On April 25, 2024, Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR, gave an urgent press conference in response to her public dispute with HYBE. The press conference has remained a popular topic of discussion online.
At the press conference, Min Hee Din refuted claims of attempting to gain complete control of ADOR. Instead, she disclosed that she had been instructed to delay the debut and promotion of NewJeans until after LE SSERAFIM had made their debut.

HYBE follows a multi-label structure, with NewJeans falling under ADOR and LE SSERAFIM being managed by Source Music. Min Hee Jin alleged that HYBE imitated NewJeans’s “formula”for ILLIT’s debut. ILLIT is under contract with BELIFT Lab.
Min Hee Jin revealed that HYBE had originally intended to debut NewJeans as “HYBE’s first girl group”alongside her. This was used as a tactic to convince the parents of NewJeans’ members to allow them to join the group. However, HYBE ultimately chose to debut LE SSERAFIM before NewJeans and prohibited Min Hee Jin from promoting the group.
During her statement, she revealed that despite NewJeans’ debut, Bang Si-hyuk, the chairman of HYBE, did not offer any congratulations. She also made public screenshots of their KakaoTalk conversations, one of which showed Bang asking, “Are you enjoying this?”when NewJeans appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 main single chart for the first time.
Relationship Between Bang Si Hyuk and NewJeans
After the press conference, Bang Si Hyuk’s Instagram feed caught the attention of netizens. They were quick to point out that although Bang Si Hyuk is known for posting affectionate pictures with artists under HYBE labels, he did not post any with NewJeans.
As of this moment, Bang Si Hyuk’s Instagram account contains pictures of him with TXT, LE SSERAFIM, ENHYPEN, BTS, SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, &TEAM, KATSEYE, and Zico.
Despite debuting in May last year, photos of NewJeans BOYNEXTDOOR did not surface on Bang Si Hyuk’s Instagram account.
This evoked a variety of responses. Certain individuals hold the belief that Bang Si Hyuk demonstrates favoritism, and that he does so quite blatantly. Additionally, this cast doubt on HYBE Labels’ proclaimed intention to safeguard NewJeans, as their founder does not even have pictures with one of their top-performing groups.
On the other hand, some individuals pointed out that BOYNEXTDOOR lacks a photo with Bang Si Hyuk, indicating that people may be exaggerating the situation.
