How to Make Paper
As you progress through Aloft and unlock various crafting recipes, you’ll eventually gain the ability to produce paper from scratch. The first step is to construct a Workbench, which is available as one of the initial recipes on the starting islands. Within the Workbench’s crafting menu, combine the following ingredients: one Glasswort, three Small Plants, and one Clean Water. Note that dirty water cannot be used for this recipe.
Completing this process will yield Paper Pulp. Return to the Workbench and combine five Paper Pulps to craft a single sheet of Paper. Below, you will find a list detailing where to gather the necessary materials for Paper Pulp.
- Clean Water: Craft it by combining Charcoal with Dirty Water in your crafting menu or at the Workbench.
- Small Plants: Harvest these by using a Sickle to cut down various plants found in your environment; they commonly yield these small green leaves.
- Glasswort: This coral-like plant can be found on specific islands. You will need a Sickle to collect it, and it will also provide Small Plants upon cutting.
