Players can choose from three different editions of Avowed, each with varying price points ranging from $69.99 to $94.99. Below, we provide a detailed breakdown of the contents included in each edition.

1. Digital Standard Edition – $69.99 / £59.99

The Digital Standard Edition is exclusively available in a digital format and does not include any additional downloadable content or bonuses. This edition can be accessed via Game Pass on both Xbox and PC.

If you’re interested in accessing content from the Premium Edition (details below), you can purchase an upgrade from your platform’s digital storefront at a cost of $24.99. However, note that opting for the upgrade may be more expensive than purchasing the Premium Edition directly.

2. Digital Premium Edition – $89.99 / £79.99

For an additional $20, the Digital Premium Edition offers more than just the base game—it provides five days of early access starting from February 13. This edition includes:

Five days Early Access

3. Premium Edition Steelbook – $94.99 / £94.99

The contents of the Avowed Premium Edition Steelbook

If you appreciate a beautifully crafted physical edition, consider the Premium Edition Steelbook. Priced at $94.99, this edition includes:

Digital code for the base game
Five days Early Access
Digital artbook and soundtrack
Eora Collection Set and Obsidian Collection Set premium skin packs
Map of the Living Lands
Stylish Avowed steelbook case
Letter from the developer

However, be aware that although it’s labeled a physical edition, there is no physical disc inside; a digital code must be redeemed to access the game.

Preorder Bonuses for Avowed

Preordering either the Digital Premium Edition or the Premium Edition Steelbook grants players the same five days of early access, allowing them to start their journey through Eora on February 13 instead of waiting for the official launch date.

Game Pass subscribers can also take advantage of this early access by preordering the Digital Premium Edition of Avowed.

Note: If the upgrade system behaves like it did for Starfield, you may not need to preorder the Premium Edition. Players have reported successfully purchasing the Premium Upgrade on the day early access launched.

Details on Skin Packs

Included in both premium editions are two unique skin packs, offering themed options for your character and companions. The available packs are:

Eora Collection Set: Inspired by the beloved characters and environments from Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity series.
Obsidian Collection Set: Designed by the developers themselves, these skins feature a sleek, modern aesthetic.

Preloading Avowed

Players can now preload Avowed, whether they are purchasing the game or accessing it via Game Pass. The initial download is a small 324.8 MB file size on Xbox Series X, which acts as a placeholder. The complete game will surely be larger, but downloading this placeholder allows for a seamless transition when the full game is released.

Once the full game is available, it should automatically download to your console, or at minimum, it will appear in the ‘Updates’ section under ‘My Games & Apps’.

Avowed’s Install Size Specifications

As of now, the specific install size for Avowed on Xbox consoles has not been confirmed, but a recent post on Xbox Wire indicates that the PC version will require around 75 GB of storage. It is reasonable to assume a similar size for Xbox consoles.

Early access for Avowed will commence at midnight on February 13, based on your local timezone. Additionally, players can utilize the ‘New Zealand trick’ to start playing even earlier. By changing the location settings on your console to New Zealand or Australia, you can engage with the game as soon as February 12. The exact timing will vary by region; for instance, UK players could gain access around noon.
