The development team behind Black Ops 7 has officially announced that a debated feature from previous Call of Duty games will not be included in the new game’s multiplayer mode.
In recent years, the Call of Duty franchise has experimented with various aspects of multiplayer gameplay. This includes attempts to enhance loadouts and improve weapon balance, as well as innovative approaches to map design.
A significant topic of discussion within the community has been the introduction of manual doors. First seen in **Modern Warfare (2019)**, these doors have sparked mixed feelings among players, leading to heated debates about their usefulness in gameplay.
Manual Doors Will Not Be Featured in Black Ops 7 Multiplayer
During a developer update held on September 9, Treyarch’s design director, Matt Scronce, shared the news that manual doors will not feature in the upcoming multiplayer mode of Black Ops 7.
Scronce stated, “In Black Ops 7 multiplayer, there are no manual doors. We will have a few automatic doors like we did in Black Ops 2.” He further elaborated on the development process, revealing, “Initially, our aim was to significantly cut down the number of manual doors in our maps. Midway through development, a door count revealed we had around six. After a closed-door meeting, I decided, ‘Let’s delete all the doors.’ Therefore, there will be no manual doors in Black Ops 7 multiplayer.”

While some players appreciated the strategic element that manual doors added to modes such as **Search and Destroy** and **Hardpoint**, others viewed them as mere gimmicks, detracting from the overall experience.
In contrast, the implementation of automatic doors will allow them to open seamlessly as players approach, eliminating the need for any additional button presses. This change aims to streamline gameplay and cater to a broader range of player preferences.
