Cheating Issues Arise in Black Ops 7 Within Hours of Beta Launch

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta has barely launched and players are already confronting a familiar nightmare: an influx of cheaters. As the gaming community looks forward to a robust anti-cheat mechanism, the present situation is disheartening.

Every year, cheating poses a significant challenge for the Call of Duty franchise, leaving developer Activision in a relentless battle against those who create and use these illicit tools. With the early access beta launching on October 2, players soon found themselves discussing not only in-game perks and scorestreaks but also the re-emergence of cheating behaviors.

Cheating Tactics Emerge in the Early Stages

Just hours after the beta’s debut, disturbing footage showcasing aim bots, wall hacks, and other cheating software began circulating on social media. In one notable instance, a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a newly created account illustrated a player’s ability to effortlessly spot enemies through walls and eliminate them with uncanny precision.

In another instance, popular streamer Stodeh expressed his disbelief while capturing a match just three hours post-launch. During a live session, he questioned, “Bro, is this guy cheating in hour three of beta?” Following a series of kills that seemed impossible, another player in the lobby confirmed that cheating had been rampant since the beta went live. Stodeh’s experience was punctuated by jaw-dropping kill cams that showcased absurd gameplay from an opponent who seemingly had an unfair advantage.

While Treyarch, the game’s developer, has announced enhancements to the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system, which aims to tackle aimbots and wall hacks, it’s important to note that these improvements are not yet operational within the beta. According to a recent blog post, players can expect a more sophisticated anti-cheat framework featuring advanced machine learning and detection capabilities to be implemented at the official launch of the game.

This upgraded system is set to go live with the full release of Black Ops 7 on November 14, and fans are hopeful that it will dramatically improve the gaming experience by reducing instances of cheating.
