In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, navigating the expansive open world can be quite daunting due to minimal guidance. However, focusing on a few key priorities can significantly enhance your adventure in this immersive medieval RPG.
Upon your initial exploration of KCD2, two immediate challenges present themselves: mastering the brutally tough combat mechanics and deciphering the myriad locations to explore. With limited resources, you must assemble your weapons and armor piece by piece, making it crucial to locate both your dog, Mutt, and your horse, Pebbles, early on.
Mutt serves as an invaluable ally in combat, particularly in the early game stages. His ability to distract enemies allows you to concentrate on individual foes, which is especially beneficial when outnumbered. During my gameplay, I found Mutt to be instrumental against heavily armored opponents.
When tackling an enemy wielding a shield, I struggled initially due to my lack of proper weaponry. The time it took to deplete the shield user’s stamina felt never-ending, especially given the devastating damage from their mace. Fortunately, having Mutt by my side provided me with crucial openings; he diverted the bandit’s attention while I landed critical hits. This approach quickly turned the tide in my favor, leading to better equipment and abundant loot.
The advantages of having a horse cannot be overstated, either. Riding enables you to traverse the vast landscape much more efficiently, while also providing ample storage space for your gear, which you can sell for groschen.
Finding Mutt in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Locating Mutt is straightforward; simply follow the Mutt Quest. This quest allows you to explore significant portions of the map, engage with diverse characters, and accumulate valuable gear and currency.
While it’s wise not to overlook the mini-quests, you can expedite your search by heading directly to the area depicted on the map. Aim for a clearing adjacent to a cave located above the bathing area POI, situated to the northwest of Semine.
Don’t forget to loot the cave after dealing with any wolves in the vicinity; valuable items like a broadsword, a cuirass, and pieces of jewelry await, which could be essential for your next task of retrieving Pebbles.
Locating Pebbles in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To find Pebbles, proceed to the Semine stables. Here, you will discover that someone has rescued Pebbles after the ambush and sold the horse to the stablemaster. You can refer to the map below for specific location details.
Using your speech skills, you can persuade the stablemaster to return Pebbles to you. If that fails, purchasing him back for 160 groschen is an alternative (thanks to the loot collected in the cave).While Pebbles may not be the most exceptional horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, acquiring him for free or a modest fee makes him a worthwhile addition. Just remember to equip the saddle and bridle from your inventory!
