Epic Games has recently announced a temporary reduction in Godzilla’s spawn rate in Fortnite, just as players prepare for one last appearance of the legendary titan in upcoming matches.

On January 27, 2025, the developers shared this news via a tweet on their official Fortnite Status account. According to their message, the Godzilla portal’s spawn rate has been slightly lowered, but players should not be dismayed. They indicated that portals would return to every match later in the week as the grand conclusion of the Titan Takedown event approaches on January 31.

While the exact spawn rate has not been confirmed by Epic, gaming insider HYPEX reports a significant decrease from 100% to 60%.

Countdown Begins for Godzilla’s Grand Finale

Since its arrival on the Chapter 6 Season 1 map on January 17, Godzilla’s presence has undergone several adjustments. Initially, the chance of encountering the titan was only 20%.However, this number was increased to 40%, and then on January 24, developers revealed that Godzilla would spawn in every match, along with a boost to his overall health.

This temporary 60% spawn rate will only last until the end of the week, paving the way for a thrilling return to 100% for the event’s finale on January 31. Epic Games has remained tight-lipped regarding the culmination of this event, igniting excitement and speculation among the player community.

Many players are eagerly predicting a spectacular live event, which could feature an epic showdown between Kong and Godzilla, possibly even granting players the ability to control Kong during the confrontation.

Despite the recent nerf impacting spawn rates, players must still seek out one of the seven portal locations across the map to assume the role of Godzilla and wield his formidable trio of abilities. The exclusive Godzilla Quests, which allow players to take control of the titan, will conclude on January 31.

Players can, however, look forward to obtaining the Godzilla Evolved skin and cosmetics via this season’s Battle Pass until the end of Chapter 6 Season 1, which concludes on February 21.
