In contrast to many other games within its genre, StarRupture places a significant emphasis on exploration. Players often find themselves searching for hidden areas that provide high-quality loot necessary for progression, such as underground caves. However, gaining access to these caves isn’t straightforward; here’s a detailed guide on how to enter them effectively.

Accessing Underground Caves in StarRupture

To gain entry to the Underground Caves, players will first encounter a barrier of thick green vines. These vines are impervious to cutting or gunfire. The only way to clear them is by waiting for a StarRupture event, which automatically burns away the vines, allowing access.

Once the vines are burned away, you can safely drop into the cave. Don’t worry about taking fall damage—the descent is gentle. Inside, you’ll find a trove of valuable resources, including Quartz, Glowcap, and even remnants of deceased explorers. Each of these resources can play a vital role in your progression.

While my personal experience exploring these caves is limited, I anticipate that their complexity increases as I delve deeper into Arcadia 7. To enhance visibility during your exploration, don’t forget to turn on your flashlight and switch between modes as necessary.

How to Exit the Cave

If the vines at the cave entrance begin to regrow during your exploration, you can easily manage this. Identify and attack the red node inside the cave, which will make the vines retract temporarily. This gives you ample time to collect loot and exit without any rush.

When exploring, any discovered cave will automatically be marked on your map, helping you keep track of your findings during your adventure:

It’s a good strategy to take note of the caves you discover and to explore them promptly after a StarRupture event. Rest assured, you usually have a generous window of time before the planet’s organic life reestablishes itself fully.

There’s no need to rush. However, if you start to notice greenery sprouting outside the cave, it’s likely that you’ve missed the best window for diving in, but don’t worry; another StarRupture event will provide new opportunities soon.
