Exciting news for fans of {Hogwarts Legacy}; the developers have revealed that free support for PC mods will soon be introduced, enhancing the player experience significantly.
Since its inception in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy has only seen one significant update. The recent Summer Update, launched by Avalanche Software in early June 2024, brought notable features like Photo Mode, Talent Rest options, and access to previously PlayStation-exclusive content for all players.
Official PC Mod Support Coming to Hogwarts Legacy
In a thrilling update, Avalanche Software has announced that a free modding update will be available on Thursday, January 30. This allows players to create and experience custom content within the game.
The forthcoming mod support will be facilitated by the release of a Creator Kit, which modders can obtain free of charge through the Epic Games Store. For players interested in exploring fan-generated content, the in-game Mod Manager will provide an intuitive method for engagement.
This suite of modding tools empowers creative players to dive into development, crafting custom hair colors, character cosmetics, and even entirely new quests and dungeons. Players may also have the opportunity to reimagine their modes of transport, with mods possibly letting them soar on a flying rug, a Phoenix, or even a dragon instead of the conventional broomsticks.
Developers are proactively collaborating with modders to ensure new content will be available at the time of the modding tools’ launch. Among fan-created content, players can expect fresh hairstyles and outfits, as well as the intriguing Dungeon of Doom, an endless dungeon experience teeming with combat encounters and hidden pathways. Additionally, new fetch quests featuring magical creatures are set to enrich the gameplay experience.
This upcoming update comes shortly after Warner Bros. Discovery’s CFO, Gunnar Wiedenfels, highlighted that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is among the company’s “biggest priorities, ”suggesting a bright future for the franchise.
