Wonhee shared an amusing story about her serendipitous casting experience.“I was in Changwon and had just hopped on an express bus to Seoul. While searching for the subway station, someone approached me and asked, ‘Do you know HYBE?’” she recounted. This unexpected encounter led to her immediate casting, which transformed her into a trainee, despite her feelings of embarrassment at the time.“I used to dream of being a magician, ” she added with a chuckle, reflecting on how her life took a different turn.

Minju’s Lifelong Aspiration

In contrast, Minju had a clear vision of her future from a young age.“Since elementary school, I wanted to be an idol after being inspired by idol-themed cartoons. My passion continued into middle school, prompting me to ask my mom to enroll me in a dance academy, ” she shared.

Recalling the challenges she faced, Minju described how her mother initially opposed the idea.“I had to persuade her every single day until she finally said yes. After starting with a hobby class, the academy director encouraged me to audition. I trained for about three years at my first company before joining HYBE and debuting with ILLIT.”

ILLIT’s Playful Spirit

When the conversation shifted to ILLIT’s reputation for pranks, Minju eagerly confirmed their playful antics.“Absolutely! We often pull hidden camera pranks, sometimes even recruiting our performance director and manager to help trick one of our members, ” she noted.

In true ILLIT fashion, they prepared a ghost prank for the show, intending to scare Kim Dae-hee. Collaborating with the production team, they feigned ignorance to the spooky sounds being played.
