Kai Cenat Cancels Future Streamer University Projects Due to Online Hate

Kai Cenat, a prominent figure in the Twitch community, has officially abandoned his plans for a second iteration of Streamer University following a wave of negative feedback from certain creators.

Over the past few years, Cenat has played a significant role in propelling numerous content creators to stardom on Twitch. As a member of the AMP group, he frequently collaborates with other well-known streamers, including IShowSpeed, Fanum, and Ray, across various projects.

In February, Cenat announced his intention to launch Streamer University, a program designed to assist aspiring creators. With a college partnership in place, he secured access to their campus and invested in high-quality streaming equipment. Additionally, he enlisted several prominent streamers to help lead educational classes.

Kai’s Decision to Cancel Streamer University

Despite initial excitement, Cenat faced considerable backlash concerning some of the selected participants for the program, leading to his decision to scrap future plans.“This is an idea that I know excites certain people. But it’s crucial to remember that you shouldn’t let this kind of thing define you as a creator, ” he expressed in a recent statement.

Cenat further revealed his frustrations, stating, “I’m never doing this f**king s*it again. No matter which direction I take, it seems I always end up with the short end of the stick. The financial burden I’ve incurred is absurd, particularly considering no one is contributing financially to this initiative.”

The Twitch sensation emphasized that the goal of the project was solely to provide support for fellow creators, yet he continues to encounter hostility over his efforts.

As previously mentioned, Cenat had already revealed a lineup of participating creators who were set to act as instructors. Notable figures include DDG, Duke Dennis, Extra Emily, and Dontai, who were to dedicate their time to teaching the aspiring streamers.

With 150 aspiring creators slated to be students, there was potential for significant growth and development within this unique initiative. However, it appears that this first class may ultimately be the only cohort to pass through the doors of Streamer University.
