Welcome to the captivating world of Avowed, where players embark on an adventure through a realm marred by diseases, incomprehensible creatures, shattered cities, and the enigmatic beings known as Godlikes. These characters are among the most intricate aspects of the game, making them a frequent topic of conversation.
Players will find themselves immersed in a rich tapestry of lore, which includes diverse references to gods, the history of the Living Lands, and unique creatures. The narrative is dense, filled with detailed backstories that provoke curiosity and engagement.
At the center of this exploration is the Godlike, the protagonist’s identity and a significant element of the game.
Understanding Godlikes
Godlikes are Kith, humanoid beings granted divine touch before birth. Consider it a celestial anointment where a God chooses a champion, bestowing upon them unique abilities and a destined path to follow.
In the universe of Avowed, the Godlike experience entails distinctive physical transformations, such as markings resembling branches, fungi, and the signs of nature’s afflictions adorning their skin. These attributes make Godlikes visually striking, prompting varying responses from NPCs as they notice the protagonist’s distinct appearance.

Although players have options to customize their Godlike character’s appearance, the reactions from the game’s inhabitants remain largely unchanged, especially given the historical context—many Godlikes have mysteriously vanished, having been taken back to their divine realms by the Gods, leaving only a few behind.
