The recent 1.1 patch of V Rising, titled “Invaders of Oakveil, ”introduces a highly anticipated feature: magic pockets. With this update, players can now deposit resources into storage and utilize them for crafting and building activities, significantly enhancing gameplay.

While there are some prerequisites and limitations to consider, below is a comprehensive guide on how to unlock these magic pockets, thereby improving the quality of life for base builders in V Rising.

To utilize the resources stored in magic pockets, players must first unlock the Treasury Flooring, which is achieved by defeating the boss Nicholaus the Fallen. You can find this boss in the Forgotten Cemetery located in the Farbane Woods, and with a level of 35, he is accessible early in the game. Many players opt to challenge Nicholaus promptly to access the feature as soon as possible.

It is important to note that Nicholaus isn’t a new addition with the recent patch; players previously encountered him, but now defeating him grants an additional unlock.

Upon acquiring Treasury Flooring, players can choose from three unique patterns:

  • Affluent Pattern
  • Prized Pattern
  • Prosperous Pattern

Each Treasury Flooring pattern requires four Stone Bricks and two Gem Dusts to craft. To gather necessary resources, players are encouraged to farm Gem Veins and break rocks during their adventures.

These patterns serve an aesthetic purpose, and it is recommended to establish a dedicated room within your base for resource storage.

When planning your storage room, designate a spacious area, ideally at least 20×20, to accommodate multiple storage units and any future expansions.

Ensure that the room is enclosed with walls or multiple points of entry to allow the game to recognize it as a separate space. Replace the flooring with your new Treasury Flooring patterns to complete the setup.

Once your storage room is fully equipped with Treasury Flooring, position your storage units and interact with each one. An icon depicting the flooring will appear above the storage contents, accompanied by a checkmark. If activated, this checkmark indicates that the resources can be accessed within the castle’s network. Click the icon to highlight or activate it.

If the checkmark does not appear, it may indicate an issue with your walls or flooring. The room must strictly adhere to the requirements of having all Treasury Floorings and being properly enclosed.

After setting up your storage room, you can easily access your resources for crafting and building. However, it’s important to note that refinement processes, such as using Wood in the Sawmill, still require manual intervention. Fortunately, future updates may introduce automation for these refinement tasks.

Automating Refinement in V Rising

As players progress towards the endgame, they will encounter the boss Henry Blackbrew, the Doctor. Defeating him unlocks the powerful Redistribution Engine, which optimizes the input and output workflows of crafting and refinement stations.

This Engine allows for the seamless transfer of materials, such as moving Pollen from a Grinder into a Loom to create Coarse Thread, provided the required Plant Fibers are also available.

The Redistribution Engine can connect to up to eight sources, with each crafting or refinement station capable of interlinking with ten others.

Although it may seem complex at first, V Rising’s straightforward crafting system makes it relatively easy to learn. Players simply need to manage inputs and outputs, and if the materials can be transformed, the Redistribution Engine can likely facilitate that automation.

Enhancing Storage Options in V Rising

To further simplify resource management, players can also unlock larger storage containers by defeating Sir Magnus, the Overseer, at level 66.

This upgrade allows you to store an increased quantity of resources, addressing previous limitations regarding the storage of items like fish and coins, which typically required dedicated spaces.

Utilizing large storage units effectively doubles the capacity for each resource type, proving invaluable for resource organization. Should space become an issue, players can relocate their Castle Heart to a larger base, with several appealing locations available, particularly in the scenic Oakveil Woodlands.
