Renowned Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has expressed his reservations regarding the long-term viability of Overwatch Rush, despite his enthusiasm for this new addition to the franchise.
On February 24, Blizzard Entertainment announced an exciting new installment for fans of the popular Overwatch series: Overwatch Rush. Although it may initially appear to be merely another game mode, it is, in fact, a brand-new mobile game designed to bring the Overwatch experience to handheld devices.
What sets Overwatch Rush apart from previous Overwatch titles is its top-down perspective, deviating from the traditional third-person gameplay. Blizzard has acknowledged that the game is still in its early developmental phases, emphasizing that there is much work ahead to refine the experience for players.
xQc’s Concerns About Replayability
During his Twitch stream on the day of the announcement, xQc, a former Overwatch League competitor, shared his thoughts after watching the gameplay reveal. While he found the initial impression of Overwatch Rush to be promising, he raised questions about its potential for replayability.
“Chat, this actually looks kind of decent, though. I don’t think this looks bad, ” xQc remarked.“But I just don’t know how long it will last for, you know what I mean? It looks fun for a few matches, but I’m not sure about its long-term replayability.”

In addition to his concerns about replayability, Lengyel voiced support for Blizzard’s decision to remove certain characters from the game, specifically noting that he did not see Brigitte among the characters showcased. He humorously remarked, “They remade it without all the bad heroes. They’re going back to the old school. Brigitte ruined the game; she cooked the game.”
As Blizzard has indicated, Overwatch Rush is still in its developmental infancy, and fans can expect a full roster of playable characters to be revealed in the future. For now, the community will have to patiently await more details.
