Planet of the Apes Fans Outraged by Director’s Uncovering of Ludicrous Detail

Despite its director’s recognition, the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes remains one of the most captivating franchises in modern cinema, returning once again to captivate audiences.

In 1968, the first installment of Planet of the Apes was a pioneering accomplishment in the realm of special effects. It was the first time that makeup was able to successfully deceive viewers into thinking that a human had ventured into a society of intelligent, speaking apes.

With the 2011 release of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the series underwent a reboot, drawing inspiration from the exceptional motion capture performances of Andy Serkis in Lord of the Rings and King Kong. Even by today’s standards, the film features stunning visual effects, which were later surpassed by its sequels Dawn and War. Based on what we’ve seen, it appears that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will carry on this legacy and could even become the first in the series to win an Oscar for Best Visual Effects.

Despite its recognition at the Academy Awards, the franchise has yet to win an Oscar for its effects. While the first entry was nominated for Best Costume Design, the trilogy from the past decade was also acknowledged, but the coveted prize has eluded the franchise thus far.

In an interview with AP, Wes Ball, director of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, stated that many do not fully grasp the amount of skill and creativity required to produce these films. This includes the extensive visual effects, as well as the production work and set building. Ball expressed confidence that audiences will thoroughly enjoy the final product.

“I find it unacceptable that the Apes movie franchise has yet to receive a visual effects award, such as an Oscar. In my opinion, this is absurd. I am determined to do my part in attempting to rectify this issue.”

It should be mentioned that every entry faced stiff competition: Hugo won over Rise, Interstellar defeated Dawn, and Blade Runner 2049 emerged victorious over War.

Despite this realization, a fan responded by tweeting: “This is a criminal act. The recent #PlanetOfTheApes movies successfully brought CGI ape characters to life and the special effects teams deserve more critical acknowledgement for their accomplishments.”

“It is truly remarkable. The visual effects in the previous trilogy, not to mention in the upcoming #KingdomofThePlanetoftheApes, are flawless. The motion and facial capture are extraordinary. The level of lifelike detail in Caesar’s face and eyes, as well as others, is breathtaking. Bravo,”another person commented.

“I strongly believe that it is unjust that Andy Serkis never received a nomination for Best Actor,”commented a third person.

On May 9, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be released in cinemas. Additionally, there are other new movies premiering this month that you can catch in theaters.
