Players Already Have One Main Complaint, But It’s Not New

Despite receiving positive feedback and constructive criticism from players, XDefiant has not been released without flaws. The developers must address one particular mechanic that has been heavily discussed on the r/XDefiant Subreddit.

A meme was shared by a user named creepy-uncle-chad on the r/XDefiant subreddit, which humorously addressed a common complaint among players. Titled “Most of my deaths in this Game,” the post included a gif from the movie Wanted, where a character skillfully curves a bullet around a corner to hit their target.

Despite the meme being exaggerated, there is still a lot of truth to it. The most common complaint among XDefiant players is the issue with hit registration. While it does make it easier to kill enemies who are taking cover, it can be frustrating when you are being fired upon.

The responses reflect similar sentiments, as players voice concerns about XDefiant’s hit registration and desync problems. It seems to require numerous shots to secure a kill, while players themselves are taken down in just a couple of hits. These issues contribute to a frustrating gameplay experience for all players, particularly those who may not possess advanced gaming abilities.

Despite not being the only post, numerous players in the Subreddit have expressed their dissatisfaction with the hit registration and server desync. Many have also reported difficulties in surviving gunfights and being able to engage in subsequent ones.

One user, Connnooorrr, shared their thoughts on the game in a post titled “I want to love this game, but it’s starting to get tiring…”They expressed their love for the game but also pointed out some flaws. After playing for 22 hours, they believed that XDefiant has the potential to be great but is hindered by hit registration and desync problems. Fortunately, their post was constructive and proposed a solution to address the issue before players become too frustrated.

To add to the existing problems, there is a particular category of weapons that elicits the most grievances from the player base – snipers. The problems with hit detection seem to be amplified when facing a sniper as opposed to an SMG or assault rifle. Not only are snipers overpowered, but there is also a lack of effective counters against them.

In a gunfight with a sniper, it is common to disrupt their aim by hitting them. However, in XDefiant, snipers have the ability to kill with one shot and do not experience significant flinch when taking damage. This allows them to stay in aiming mode and easily take down enemies, even when under fire or at close range.

Despite some players having a positive experience, the combination of hit registration and desync problems, along with overpowered snipers, is leading to a less enjoyable experience for many. While there may be some positive posts, it is undeniable that changes need to be made sooner rather than later if XDefiant hopes to thrive in this competitive landscape.
