Fans of Pokemon TCG Pocket are expressing their frustration over a cumbersome gameplay mechanic that is leading to reduced battle participation among players.

Since its release, Pokemon TCG Pocket has experienced significant changes, particularly following the launch of the Mythical Island expansion. This update introduced a plethora of new cards, while recent holiday and New Year events have provided players with even more Pokémon to enhance their collection.

As a result, the competitive landscape is evolving, with formidable new decks rising in popularity. However, many of these top-tier decks utilize a tedious mechanic that is increasingly becoming a source of discontent among players.

The Impact of Coin-Flips on Gameplay Experience

The launch of the Mythical Island expansion has introduced cards that trigger lengthy animations as the game resolves coin flips. Veteran trainers may already recognize Misty’s ability as a significant culprit, while a new Eevee card can activate extended sequences of flips if luck is on the player’s side.

However, the greatest source of frustration stems from the combination of Celebi EX and Serperior. When players utilize these cards with sufficient Energy, they can experience up to 12 consecutive coin-flips, irrespective of the outcomes.

One user articulated their frustration succinctly, stating, “I don’t really understand why we even need to see them at all. There’s so much wasted time in battles. You also gotta click through like 5 screens to move on.”Another player added, “Not to be dramatic, but I actually stopped battling largely for this reason and find myself opening the app less and less. Opening packs, coin flips, wonder picking – everything takes forever.”

In response to this growing dissatisfaction, players have proposed various solutions, including speeding up the animations, allowing users to skip them, or even eliminating them altogether to enhance the battling experience. Unfortunately, there are currently no plans from the developers to address these concerns.
