Pokémon Go fans have praised the rewards for the Road to Sinnoh event, with many excited to see free legendary encounters thanks to the Timed Research quest.

Pokémon Go recently announced the Road to Sinnoh event in preparation for the Go Tour Sinnoh festivities beginning on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Like the Go Tour Sinnoh event, Road to Sinnoh features Pokémon from the fourth generation and offers trainers numerous bonuses, quests, and monster encounters.

Now, players have praised the event for offering a handful of Legendary Pokémon encounters for free, thanks to the included One-Time Research quest.

Although the event offers fairly standard Wild encounters like Generation 4 Starters and their morphs, trainers have quickly noticed the free One-Time Study encounters.

According to the official Pokémon Go blog, fans who complete the Timed Research quest tasks can earn encounters with Heatran, Giratina in Original Form, Cresselia, and Darkrai – all of which can be shiny.

Fans were quick to praise the Time Study quest, especially because these Legendaries could be captured for free.

“A one-off Study with Legendaries is pretty exciting,” said one fan, while another commented: “Pretty excited for this. I hope I can actually win some content…”

In addition to free One-Time Research encounters, trainers can find all four Legendaries and regional Lake Trio appearances during 5-star Raids. During the event, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 10.

However, not all aspects of the event were praised by fans, with many noting that the Wild appearances were “awful” .

“These Wild Spawns are legitimately awful…” one trainer said, and another claimed they were the “worst Wild Spawns in the history of this game.”

While some fans may be annoyed by the state of Sinnoh Starters during the event, those looking to obtain a Cresselia for the Grand League should take advantage of the free One-Time Research while it is available.
