Diablo 4’s Spiritborn class has been deemed excessively powerful, and the developers have recently acknowledged this issue. They are now reaching out to players for their input on whether this class should remain as is.
The Spiritborn class in Diablo 4 is currently delivering astronomical damage figures—trillions, to be precise—leaving other classes far behind. This evaluation excludes the now-nerfed Evade build which previously allowed players to roll their way to success effortlessly.
Players who have not purchased the expansion feel disadvantaged, as regular classes struggle to keep pace. On the other hand, those who own the expansion revel in their dominance, utilizing these bugged and overpowered builds to their advantage.
In light of the growing imbalance, Diablo 4 General Manager Rod Fergusson took to X (formerly Twitter) to conduct a poll. He inquired whether the Spiritborn should be adjusted to align more closely with other classes or if it should be left alone for players to enjoy.
Non-binding poll. Just me being curious again…Should we fix the Spiritborn so that it’s closer in balance to the other classes OR should we leave it as it is because you’re having fun?No, I’m not offering “break the other classes”. 😃

The poll featured the question, “Non-binding poll. Just me being curious again… Should we fix the Spiritborn so that it’s closer in balance to the other classes OR should we leave it as it is because you’re having fun?”
The response from the community was overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the Spiritborn unchanged, with players embracing its dramatic damage potential.
Many suggestions flooded in, and even Elon Musk offered his advice: “Buff the other classes! They will love it.”
Several players appreciated Fergusson’s candidness, advocating for some mild adjustments to the other classes rather than simply weakening the Spiritborn. However, he made it clear that he wouldn’t consider “breaking the other classes.”
The poll results indicate that players are relishing the current state of affairs, which confirms that the Spiritborn is significantly overpowered. Fergusson’s lighthearted tone suggests that Blizzard isn’t rushing to implement a fix.
As praise for Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion continues to grow among fans and professional players alike, the debate surrounding the Spiritborn has only intensified. While the class may be seen as overpowered, it is undeniably adding a layer of enjoyment that many players wish to sustain.
