Players Call for Changes to Make Redundant Bosses More Rewarding in Diablo 4

Players Call for Changes to Make Redundant Bosses More Rewarding in Diablo 4

With Diablo 4 Season 4’s focus on endgame Uber bosses, there is a growing demand from players for the developers to also address issues with mid-game Uber bosses.

As the number of players seeking Uber Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 4 continues to rise, some believe that mid-game bosses like Varshan and Lord Zir are being overlooked. Despite having a smaller chance of dropping an Uber Unique, these bosses still need to be farmed in order to advance in the game.

Despite their lack of significant rewards, Varshan, Lord, Zir, and other mid-game Uber bosses are still essential for players in Diablo 4 as they must continuously farm them for the necessary materials to successfully battle against Uber Duriel and Andariel.

In the Diablo 4 subreddit, Reddit user ‘yxalitis’ shared their thoughts on the mid-game bosses, highlighting the need for improvements. They expressed frustration with the repetitive nature of farming and the time-consuming process of running numerous fights in order to obtain necessary materials.

The OP pointed out that it was strange how the outer dungeon to Zir was at level 100, but then dropped for the boss area. These mid-game Ubers bosses often become too easy for players in the endgame stage, which can be a disappointing experience for many. Therefore, it would be beneficial to scale them to the same level as the players, at 100.

Diablo 4 mid-game Uber bosses need a rework, according to players.

The original poster also mentioned the issue of imbalanced mats, noting that some were significantly more difficult to obtain than others. Another player echoed this sentiment, stating that Varshan mats seemed particularly scarce compared to other boss mats. They suggested that the mats should be buffed or a method for transmutation should be implemented, in agreement with the original poster.

In Diablo 4, obtaining high-quality loot is a major focus for players this season. As a result, they are prioritizing Uber Uniques over mid-game bosses, causing these bosses to be overlooked. Meanwhile, new endgame bosses like Andariel are being introduced to cater to this demand.

One significant concern is the lack of scaling for bosses, as they do not adjust to match the player’s level. Despite Diablo 4 being designed as a dynamically scaling world based on players’ levels, Uber bosses remain at a fixed level for both World Tier 3 and 4.

Some players expressed their disappointment with the item reworks, stating that it rendered some of the bosses’ content obsolete, making it too simple and not rewarding enough. One player even described the bosses as “annoying.”

After the success of Season 4, thanks to its updates and speedy resolutions, it will be intriguing to observe how Blizzard addresses these grievances.
