Players Demand Major Changes to Elder Dragon Interceptions in Monster Hunter Now

Players of Monster Hunter are currently requesting modifications to the Elder Dragon Interceptions, which was recently introduced as a new feature in the Season 2 update.

The launch of Elder Dragon Interceptions on June 13 marked the arrival of the most significant feature in Monster Hunter Now since Hunt-a-thons. During these interceptions, Hunters have the opportunity to confront the formidable Kushala Daora, the game’s inaugural raid-style creature.

Despite receiving praise from the community for its recent additions of Driftsmelting and multiplayer HATs, there is a widespread belief among players that Elder Dragon Interceptions are in need of significant improvements.

One player expressed their concerns on the official Monster Hunter Now Reddit page, stating that while the new release is on the same cooldown timer as regular HaTs, it should have been a completely separate game mode.

Some people were eager to point out that Elder Dragon Interceptions use the same tickets as regular Hunt-a-thons. This presents players with a choice of using their Ultra Hunting Tickets to battle Kushala or five regular monsters.

According to one Hunter, one of the fights does not contribute to any of their builds, while the other allows for diverse elemental builds. This simple comparison highlights the clear advantage of one over the other. Similar opinions were expressed by other users in various discussions, with many pointing out the greater benefits of regular Hunt-a-thons.

The primary reason I avoid elder raids is because I don’t want to miss out on HATs just to do an Elder raid. In my opinion, it would be fair for everyone to have the opportunity to participate in two or three elder raids without using CD, and for additional elder raids, extra tickets would be required.

While Elder Dragon Interceptions are still in their early days, Niantic has the opportunity to make adjustments in future updates. As evidenced by the recent addition of Friend Quests, the developers are open to implementing new features that allow players to team up with friends and tackle challenges together.
