Modern Warfare 3 players have expressed disappointment with the new JAK Thumper Aftermarket Part for the RGL-80 Grenade Launcher, citing its lack of usefulness even after being unlocked after a significant amount of time.
When Modern Warfare 3 was initially released, fans of Call of Duty were once again met with some updates to Create-A-Class and Weapon Tuning, including the introduction of Aftermarket Parts and Armory unlocks.
Despite their initial negative reception, the Aftermarket Parts have become the top choice among players due to their ability to enhance weapon customization like never before. Though some were initially deemed unnecessary, the majority have now been recognized for their valuable benefits.
Despite some of the newer Aftermarket Parts causing problems for the developers in terms of balance, some have proven to be overpowered. The JAK Thumper-565 kit for the RGL-80 launcher was a potential concern, but fans remain skeptical due to the difficulty of unlocking it.
“Redditor ACleverNameHere responded to another user who claimed to have gone through a “crisis”to unlock the Aftermarket Part, stating, “Just wait until you experience how terrible the AMP is. All that pain for nothing.”
Some individuals have asserted that they are unable to use the JAK Thumper kit due to it being “bugged.”Another person stated, “I have equipped it and while it may not be bugged, it is still quite inadequate.”Others have commented, “Although it may not be bugged, it’s still pretty terrible to be honest.”

The addition of the Aftermarket Part enables the launcher to shoot three distinct types of ammunition: 40mm Slug, 40mm Sticky, and 40mm Drill Charges. However, as previously stated, there are significant obstacles to overcome if one wishes to utilize it.
Despite the complaints, many players have discovered a sense of joy in utilizing it. One player even argued, “Slugs have been the most enjoyable aspect for me since the pre-nerf models.”Another player commented, “I find the slugs to be incredibly entertaining to experiment with in multiplayer.”
It is clear that if the attachment becomes too much of a hassle, the developers will intervene soon. However, at the moment, it appears to be enjoyable.
