Players Want Key Overwatch 2 Feature Added to Marvel Rivals Game

Marvel Rivals players believe that implementing one key feature from Overwatch 2 would greatly benefit the game.

Prior to the launch of the Closed Beta for Marvel Rivals, players had already begun drawing comparisons between the game and Overwatch 2. With a diverse cast of heroes with unique roles, abilities, and ultimates, it’s difficult not to make connections between the two games.

Adam Warlock, a recently added support hero in the game, brought back memories of the classic Mercy experience in Overwatch with his ability to resurrect fallen allies.

As the Closed Beta phase of the game comes to a close, players have come together in a Reddit thread to suggest implementing a feature from Overwatch 2: a health regeneration passive.

Mantis’ healing and abilities are dependent on her Life Orb.

One user suggested that implementing a regenerate health passive for all heroes after a period of 5 to 7+ seconds without taking any damage would be beneficial. They also mentioned the possibility of extending this time to 10 seconds, but ultimately believed it would be a valuable addition to the game.

After seeing this suggestion, several other players in the comments section expressed their agreement. One user replied, “Considering the lack of a role queue and the fact that health packs don’t fully restore health, this change seems necessary. And even without these issues, it would still greatly improve the game’s quality of life.”

“Auto-regen is a necessary addition, and it is surprising that it has not been implemented yet. It would greatly benefit support players by making healing easier and give DPS players more independence, especially in situations where they may not have a clear line of sight,”mentioned another user.

One user chimed in that Paladins has out-of-combat healing and suggested that it could be a beneficial addition to Marvel Rivals.

Despite the agreement of the players, there are those who advocate against implementing this passive in the game, arguing that it would be detrimental.

A user who strongly disagreed noted that not only is it difficult to receive support, but this change could also be taken advantage of by players and result in prolonged stalemates.

Conversely, some believe that this passive can discourage map awareness, promote solitary gameplay, and potentially diminish the value of support players.

Regardless, since Marvel Rivals is currently in Closed Beta, it remains to be seen if there will be any additional features added upon the game’s official release.
