What to Expect from PlayStation: The Concert
While there have been plenty of gaming concerts in the past—such as the lively performances of Persona or the celebrated Stardew Valley tour—PlayStation aims to take it to a new level.
This music-centric event promises orchestrated live renditions of popular PlayStation soundtracks, but that’s not all.
Sid Shuman, Senior Director at Sony, has teased that the event will feature “state-of-the-art visuals” to provide attendees with an “unforgettable experience.”
Expect incredible visuals that resonate with the gameplay during each specific segment of the show. For instance, when the haunting melodies of Gustavo Santaolalla from The Last of Us fill the air, expect visuals from the game to accompany it, along with stunning landscapes projected when Bear McCreary’s famed God of War scores are played.
Confirmed Games for PlayStation: The Concert
As of now, only four games have been officially confirmed for the PlayStation Concert: God of War, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and Horizon.
Sony has been cautious in its communications, avoiding any revelations about additional titles. However, the PlayStation Blog assures fans that “many others that reflect our 30 years of game development” will be included.
This means that attendees can look forward to an array of music spanning from the PS1 era to contemporary releases. It’s hard to imagine that iconic franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Metal Gear Solid, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted, and Gran Turismo won’t be part of the lineup.
We’ll keep you updated as more titles are revealed, so you’ll know exactly what to anticipate during the live event.
