Pochita’s potential meal has Chainsaw Man fans worried about the upcoming chapter.

Pochita’s potential meal has Chainsaw Man fans worried about the upcoming chapter.

In chapter 172 of Chainsaw Man, Pochita devoured the Ear Devil, but subsequently regurgitated it with the help of the Primal Aging Devil and Yoshida. In the following chapter 174, the Hero of Hell consumed the Mouth Devil, leading to a dialogue-free and action-packed chapter 175.

Despite the recurring pattern, numerous fans have speculated that the entire situation could be leading up to Pochita consuming the Eye Devil, a possibility that has been hinted at by Fujimoto. This could potentially result in a chapter devoid of dialogue, pictures, and any visual content.

The Progression of Pochita’s Actions in Chainsaw Man

The appearance of the Hero of Hell occurred in chapter 171 and in the following chapter, 172, the character quickly eliminated the Public Safety Department’s forces. While Pochita’s destructive tendencies were not uncommon, fans have taken note of the Hero of Hell’s deliberate selection of devils to consume since his comeback.

It has been speculated by certain fans that Pochita may be embodying the proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”

Despite the lack of explanation, Pochita’s actions have sparked countless fan theories. Many speculate that the Hero of Hell is targeting devils who represent essential aspects of communication, leading to the belief that Pochita’s goal is to prevent fear from spreading by disrupting all forms of communication.

Despite the Hero of Hell removing all mouths from the narrative, Fujimoto still managed to deliver a chapter without any dialogue. There is speculation that Pochita may also eliminate the concept of eyes, resulting in Fujimoto finally creating the “blank”or “empty”chapter that fans have been playfully anticipating.

Reader Responses to the Theory

While a few fans have speculated that Pochita’s actions could be strategic in curbing fear, the majority of the fandom speculates that Fujimoto may have the Hero of Hell devour the Eye Devil and produce an entire chapter devoid of any content.

“I think it would be so funny if the eye devil got eaten at the beginning of a chapter and every page after that was just blank,”one fan wrote.

“Imagine Fujimoto putting out a chapter of nothing but 18 blacked-out pages,”another fan wrote.

“I hope we get excellently laid out panels of all black when that happens, for like half a chapter,”one fan said.

Some fans have also observed that chapter 175 of Chainsaw Man is not the first time Fujimoto has written a chapter without any dialogue, as he previously did in chapter 46 of Fire Punch.

Despite being a joke, some fans speculate that Fujimoto could potentially release a blank chapter and declare a hiatus in order to heighten its impact.

A different viewer hypothesized that the next chapter after the Hero of Hell devoured the Eye Devil might possibly be entirely composed of text without any illustrations, resembling certain chapters in Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter.

“This isn’t the first time Fujimoto has written a chapter with zero dialogue,”another fan mentioned.

“Pochita kills the Eye Devil and we get a blank chapter. Fujimoto then goes on hiatus.”another fan said.

“No drawings, only text. Togashi style.”Another fan chimed in.

Following Chapter 175, there will be a brief hiatus before the release of Chainsaw Man Chapter 176 on September 3, 2024.

The previous chapter, 175, left readers with a hint of a flashback or a potential power-up for Yoru. This suggests that in the upcoming chapter, Yoru may successfully force Chainsaw Man to rid himself of the Mouth Devil.
