Pokemon Fans and the TCG Theory: Predictions for Legends: Z-A Starters

Pokemon Fans and the TCG Theory: Predictions for Legends: Z-A Starters

One theory, known as the Legends: Z-A theory, of a Pokemon fan sparked hope among fans that the upcoming Holiday packs for the TCG would confirm their hypothesis for the spin-off.

The author of a Reddit thread shared information about Temporal Storm Fun Packs, which are set to be included in the 2024 advent calendar. These packs will feature artwork for Turtwig, Totodile, and Litten. The thread’s author also made a comparison to the boosters for Astral Radiance, which also included these three Pokémon.

Upon seeing Oshawott, Rowlet, and Cindquil featured in Legends: Arceus, the three available starter Pokemon, the author of the thread speculated that The Pokemon Company may have unintentionally revealed the starters for Z-A.

“One reply expressed excitement about the possibility of Totodile getting the spotlight again, stating that it was about time. Others shared the same sentiment and were eagerly anticipating Turtwig being featured. A fan of the Gen 4 Grass-type starter exclaimed that Turtwig deserves more love and a stronger defensive typing.”

Similar to how Legends: Arceus revealed the Hisuian Typhlosion, Decidueye, and Samurott as new regional evolutions, it is anticipated that Z-A will also introduce new variations. In the event that this theory is confirmed, Feraligatr, Torterra, and Incineroar would receive alternative forms.

Despite fans’ strong desire to believe the prediction, many responses criticized and questioned the speculation. One person provided an explanation, stating that the lines were simply used in the TCG and not a tease for upcoming games.

Serebii webmaster Joe Merrick promptly addressed the issue and clarified expectations. He stated, “I apologize, but let me clear this up. This is a common occurrence for each set and includes three featured Pokemon from the set. In the case of Temporal Forces, Feraligatr, Torterra, and Incineroar are the highlighted cards. This is simply a promotional tactic.”

Despite the possibility of the aforementioned trio being featured in Z-A, it is highly unlikely that the TCG art will have any connection beyond mere coincidence.

As of the current moment, the official launch date and platform for Pokemon Legends: Z-A remain unknown.
