The 8th Anniversary Party event for Pokemon Go will once again be a success, featuring two highly coveted Pokemon that all trainers strive to add to their collection. This year’s event will include the reintroduction of Shiny Meltan and Shiny Celebii through a brand new Masterwork Research.

Pokemon Go 8th Anniversary Celebration Dates
The celebrations for the 8th anniversary of Pokemon Go will take place from June 28 at 10 AM local time, until July 3 at 8 PM local time in 2024.
Shiny Meltan Boost & Costumed Pokemon Debuts
During the Pokemon Go 8th Anniversary Party, using the Mystery Box may result in encountering a Shiny Meltan, and the cooldown for the Mystery Box will also be decreased.
During the event, the following costumed Pokemon will make their debut:
- Grimer wearing a party hat*
- Muk wearing a party hat*
Some Pokemon marked with an (*) may be discovered in a shiny form.
8th Anniversary Party event bonuses
During the Pokemon Go 8th Anniversary Party event, the following bonuses will be in effect:
- The likelihood of becoming Lucky Friends has been enhanced.
- There is a higher likelihood of obtaining Lucky Pokemon through trades.
- Interacting through opening Gifts, trading Pokemon, or participating in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles will expedite the growth of friendship levels beyond the usual rate.
- There is a possibility of obtaining 8 or more than 88 Gimmighoul Coins when you use a Golden Lure Module and spin a PokeStop.
New Avatar items will be available in the store to celebrate the 8th anniversary.
The event will also offer special bonuses on specific days.
- During the specified time frame of June 28 at 10 AM to June 29 at 11:59 PM local time, placing eggs in an incubator will result in a 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance.
- From June 30 at 12:00 AM to July 1 at 11:59 PM local time, players can enjoy 2 times the experience points for catching Pokemon.
- During the time frame of July 2 at 12 AM to July 3 at 8 PM in local time, there will be a 2x increase in Stardust for catching Pokemon.

During the Pokemon Go 8th Anniversary Party event, a fresh Timed Research will be accessible to all players, granting them Stardust, XP, and chances to encounter event-themed Pokemon.
