Pokemon Go: All Arlo June 2023 weaknesses and best Pokemon counters

Arlo makes regular appearances in Pokemon Go as one of the three Team Rocket leaders. You can encounter Arlo if you have Rocket Radar equipped, and there’s a chance you can save the shadow Pokemon he’s captured.

In Pokemon Go, Arlo’s roster changes every few months, and starting on June 21, 2023, he has a new team and features different shadow Pokemon. Here’s what you need to know about all of Arlo’s Pokemon weaknesses and the best Pokemon counters to use in Pokemon Go for June 2023.

If you’re hunting the Team Rocket leaders, make sure you have a Rocket Radar in your inventory, which you can obtain after defeating six Team Rocket grunts and grabbing their Mysterious Components. Once you have the Rocket Radar equipped, visit any captured Team Rocket PokeStop or a Rocket Balloon for a chance to find Arlo. You might also encounter Cliff or Sierra when looking for Team Rocket leaders.

All of Arlo’s Pokemon in Pokemon Go

These are all the Pokemon Arlo can use against you in Pokemon Go. The first Pokemon will also be the same, but the second and third options have the chance to be different, with three unique options to pick from.

Arlo’s First Pokemon

The first Pokemon Arlo will use against you will be Teddiursa, a Normal-type Pokemon. It will be weak against Fighting-type Pokemon, which makes it a relatively easy encounter for you to counter against. You shouldn’t expect too much trouble from this battle, but there are two more Pokemon that Arlo is going to use against you.

Arlo’s Second Pokemon

The second Pokemon Arlo can use against will either be Hypno, Golurk, or Blaziken. Hypno is a Psychic-type Pokemon, weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. Golurk is a Ground and Ghost-type Pokemon, weak against Dark, Ghost, Grass, Ice, and Water-type moves. Finally, we have Blaziken who is a Fire and Fighting-type, weak against Flying, Ground, Psychic, and Water-type moves.

Unfortunately, these three Pokemon do not share many common weaknesses, with Hypno and Golurk being weak to Dark and Ghost-type moves, and Golurk and Blaziken weak against Water-type attacks. Given these limitations, I recommend using a Water-type Pokemon as they should be suitable to use against Golurk and Blaziken, such as Swampert, Blastoise, Samurott, or Primarina.

Arlo’s Third Pokemon

The final Pokemon Arlo will use against you is Scizor, Luxray, or Banette. Scizor is a Steel and Bug-type and is only weak against Fire-type attacks. Luxray is an Electric-type, only weak against Electric-type attacks. Finally, we have Banette, a Ghost-type weak against Dark and Ghost-type moves.

Similar to the previous team, none of them share any weaknesses. My best recommendation is to go with a Pokemon capable of using Fire-type moves to counter Scizor, but they can also use Ground-type attacks to quickly dispatch Luxray. Camerupt is an excellent option for this final battle or Ho-Oh.

After defeating Arlo, you’ll have a chance to catch a shadow Teddiursa at the end of the battle. We can confirm that there is a chance this could appear as a shiny version.
