Pokemon Go: All Ultra Beasts & how to catch them

Although initially seen only in the Alola region, Ultra Beasts have now made their way into the world of Pokemon Go. In this article, we will discuss and detail the methods for catching each Ultra Beast currently available in the mobile game.

During the 2022 Go Fest event, Pokemon Go unveiled Ultra Beasts to the mobile game for the first time. This event featured the addition of multiple Ultra Beasts through Special Research quests or as 5-Star Raid encounters.

Despite being classified as a separate type of Pokemon, they share many similarities with traditional Legendary Pokemon from previous Generations.

How to Catch Ultra Beasts in Pokemon Go

Similar to Legendary Pokemon, Ultra Beasts cannot be encountered and captured in their natural habitats or through hatching eggs. Instead, they can only be encountered and defeated in a Raid Battle, after which they can be captured during the Bonus Challenge phase.

After successfully defeating an Ultra Beast in a Raid, you will receive a set number of Premier Balls to try and catch it. During this time, you can use Razz Berries and aim for Excellent Curve Balls to improve your chances of catching it.

As with all Legendary Pokemon, Ultra Beasts possess an extremely low catch rate. Therefore, trainers should be prepared for the possibility of not being able to catch these difficult creatures.

It should be noted that Niantic introduced Beast Balls to Pokemon Go for the first time during the 2022 Go Fest event, coinciding with the debut of Ultra Beasts. These unique balls significantly enhanced the chances of catching Ultra Beasts. Unfortunately, Beast Balls are no longer accessible since the conclusion of Go Fest 2022, leaving most trainers with the option of using regular Poke Balls.
